The circle of Sabbath / Purple / Rainbow / Ozzy / etc band members grows closer yet again with the announcement that former Sabbath & Ozzy band member Don Airey has been named the new keyboardist for Deep Purple. He replaces Jon Lord, who has retired, presumably due to the fact that he’s getting on, and doesn’t want to go out on tour all the time anymore. :)
Don Airey as you know was the keyboardist for Ozzy’s first couple of albums, as well as being keyboardist for Sabbath’s 1978 album, Never Say Die!. Below is a pic of Don with the new Deep Purple (there’s two ex Sabbath members in this picture).
