    Hi there,
Any chance to have the bonus tracks on Lp’s or Ep’s?
Did they release any single on vynil?

This album is really brillant but should have been a double one (with for plates on vynil)
The 4 bonus tracks are as good as the album.

The only negative thought I have on this is that the synth (on Age of reason and Methademic) parts and Zeitgeist are too short…..
    GIVE US MORE!

  2. So like all of you I picked up the new album and I got mine from Best Buy to get the 12th track. I will say I really do like the album a lot. It’s very obvious they tried to give you the feel of the earlier days with the heavy almost gloomy sound. Zeitgeist is the Planet Caravan of the is album. Pretty similar in sound. At the end of the last track you hear the bells and thunder from the song Black Sabbath. i think my only really criticism of the album is I am feeling there should have been a song like Naïveté in Black on it. I have to say the bonus tracks are brilliant as well but that one particular song really grabs me. I feel like it really brings out Ozzy’s voice and I love the guitar riff on it….I mean it’s definitely full steam ahead on that song. I am seeing them in NJ in August..what a surprise if they played that but my guess is most likely not. As critical as I was about the drummer situation the drums are awesome on this record however, I do miss Bill Ward. I watched God Bless Ozzy Osbourne for like the tenth time on Showtime the other night and to see all the guys on there with something to contribute was awesome. A fan of this band since 1973, they put out a really good album for not having done a record in so many years. Great job fellas!

Bought ’13’ at a Best Buy on Long Island. Listened to it while driving down to Maryland. It kicked ass! I can’t believe it had been 35 years since ‘Never Say Die’. You could have told me that this was an unreleased album from 1971 and I would have believed it. It has the classic sound; and still sounds fresh.
    These guys are timeless.

  4. Soz but i’m a Sabbath fab & Ozzy fan, british at that to, now Sabbath made awesome albums with Ozzy ‘Never say Die’ being one of my favorites. Im sorry to say this but Metal is a young man’s quest, they have the attitude, the feeling the world has done them wrong ! There trying to find there selves, full of anger & lust ! At there age they’ve lost that a good book & a pint will do them fine thanks ! That relates to this album, it sounds like there trying to capture something that isn’t there anymore, although people have Sabbath down as dark listen to there old backlog, the lyrics quite often are soft, dare i say it caring ! By all means Sabbath, AC/DC, Mettalica , play your old classic music, but give up making new music, 13 is a poor album one That doesn’t diminish my love for Sabbath & Ozzy !

    • Sorry; you’ve all the right to think, what you do, and even to shout or write it, but I disagree.

Loudly and in more than one aspect.

13 is NOT a poor album; it is VERY solid. At times very inspired.
And to say that certain feelings belong to a certain age is strange indeed … at any age you can feel angry, confused, done wrong to, in love, lost and/or whatever!

Don’t you ever feel anything anymore? Other than disappointed wtih the new Sabbath-album, that is … ;-)

      • I agree and disagree. I think overall they are just trying to recapture some of the old sound. Still a good album.

      • I liked the album… but the Devil You know is much better…

        Do you know why…???

Dio is the vocalist and he will always be muccccccccccchhhhhhhhh better
        than Ozzy….

John, Please…!!! keep it ( my post) for all the ones who disrespect Tony’s hard work throughout all these years.
Moreover, Bible black and Follow the tears are much better than any of the songs from
        thirteen…

Bill or Vinny should be the drummers and Geoff the keyboardist….!!!

        Peace and love…!!!!

    • tragically, I agree. sounds tedious and miscalculated. one riff per song (sorry, these aren’t songs, just compositions)….8 minute long. give it 4minutes and it would have had the effect as intended. and who needs obvious copy of Planet Caravan?
it’s….like all Metallica fanatics saying, that Death Magnetic is a great album. and I simply don’t hear it (actually it sounds really bad to my ears, but that is a different topic). and I don’t hear anything great on’13’. just a collection of over-rushed riffs
Does it make Tony’s legacy worse? No. but is it good? No. I’d much rather listen to Fused. and that I will do

  5. I ordered the Super Deluxe-edition from the official site. All I can say It’s an astonishing album! I listen to it in my car because of powerful sound system and this cd needs to be listened LOUD!

I saw this post by Ozzy on a page and thought I would share it with everyone here.

Black Sabbath are riding high on the fact that their new album ’13,’ their first in 35 years, debuted at No. 1 on the Top 200 Billboard chart. This was the band’s first time topping the chart, but they are not content to coast. In fact, frontman Ozzy Osbourne hopes the band will patch up its differences with prodigal son drummer Bill Ward, who sat out this album over contractual issues. Rage Against the Machine’s Brad Wilk filled in.

“It’s a strong possibility,” Ozzy told NME about reuniting with Ward. “We would have loved to have Bill on this album. Maybe we can work things out by the next one.”

Ozzy was quick to acknowledge that the band isn’t getting any younger and because there is the inevitable constraint of time, they need to patch things up –- quick — and work on another album.

“But it won’t take another 35 years,” he promised about the successor to ’13.’ He continued, “I’m 65 now. There’s no f—-recording studios in the afterlife. We’re all even closer for all this s—, so there’s one positive, one f—ing silver lining.”

Ozzy also hopes that fans and headbangers will glom onto ’13’ and that its potency will help them forget about his MTV reality show ‘The Osbournes,’ which catapulted him into mainstream stardom. If there’s one thing the Blizzard of Ozz wishes he didn’t do, it’s that show.

“Of course I regret doing the f—ing show,” he said. “I didn’t want to be on f—ing television. I didn’t become a f—ing rock ‘n’ roll singer to read the f—ing weather forecast, know what I mean? It’s part of the reason I wanted to come back. This album pisses on all that.”

’13’ certainly does a great job of helping us forget the show!

  7. Lance Eason says

Absolutely love it. Just the fact that there is a new Black Sabbath album (with most of the original line-up) is making my head explode. It’s like finding out there actually is a Santa Claus after all. Only major regret, obviously, is that Bill’s not playing on it (regardless of whose fault that may be). And he is certainly missed, even though the younger B.W. does an awesome job. No one swings like Bill with this band, but Brad fits in well. I couldn’t say it equals any of the first six albums but it fits into the ouvre with them nicely. It sounds like a legitimate Sabbath record and can go toe-to-toe with “Never Say Die” or “Technical Ecstasy”. Maybe not win (but maybe?), but at least go several rounds. ’13’ has more focus than either of those and is a more prototypical Black Sabbath record in its overall aesthetic. I can see why the band would be prouder of it; it’s a more conscious, less haphazard effort. But those two albums have a few advantages: Bill, for one. Also, Ozzy’s voice was much stronger and more flexible then, though he sounds great on the new one (just without as much range). Anyway, win or lose, ’13’ can measure up well against either of those records. To put that in perspective, I’ve always said my top 10 “Desert Island Discs” would be the first 8 Sabbath studio albums plus “Blizzard of Ozz” and “Diary of a Madman”. I don’t know that ’13’ has displaced any of those but it’s still unbelievable. Enough so that it’s almost certainly in my Top 20, maybe even Top 15, albums of all freaking time. I love all eras of Sabbath to varying degrees (I’m a huge Dio fan, though I may actually prefer Ronnie’s work in Rainbow to his work in Sabbath, if only slightly), but the original band is my favorite group of all time, so, yeah……mind blown.

  8. Chad Hallman says

Well “13” made it to #1 in several countries including the United States. Great job to Tony & Geezer & Ozzy & Brad!

Now there was a statement from Ozzy made in an interview that they all want to reconcile with Bill Ward and have him on the next Black Sabbath record. Bloody great! That would be so nice! Come on guys do it for the fans out here! The millions of us that stuck with you guys all theses years. The fans that helped make you guys. We so much want & need this. THANK YOU !

  9. Poul Thaarup says

Simply the best album since 1973 and impressing to hear a new Sabbath song in danish radio again! Iommi is THE god – and he is NOT dead!!!!

  10. I have tried so hard to really, really like this album and have to say with much disappointment that it is OK. I feel it is trying to hard to sound like the first couple of albums which is not a bad thing but just feel labored, most of the songs just don;t have the that ‘thing’ that those albums have.

If Toni is well enough and they can do another one I think that will really be the return to form that I and others were looking for.

  11. Dr. Vincent Conigliaro says

I have been a fan ever since June 1970 This music inspired me to form a band.
All I did in those days was black Sabbath and nothing pleased me but I do miss Bill Ward
I am glad this album came out and must say it is the old stuff that brought me in to be in a band

    Thanks

  12. james brujo says

GOD IS NOT DEAD…… THE PROOF IS THAT HE FINALLY LISTEN TO ME, AND HE HAS MADE POSSIBLE ONE MORE BLACK SABBATH RECORD……. THE “13” IS, TO ME, THE BEST HEAVY ROCK ALBUM OF THE DECADE… THANKS GOD FOR BRING US TONY OZZY AND GEEZER BACK AGAIN AND WITH AN ALBUM THAT IS A MASTER PIECE OF METAL. NOW, I WILL ASK GOD TO BRING BILL WARD BACK TO THE GROUP AGAIN, FOR THE “14” .

  13. james brujo says

I MUST SAY THAT BRAD WILK ‘S WORK IN THE “13” ALBUM IS SPLENDID…. WE, THE ETERNAL BLACK SABBATH ´S FANS ARE MISSING THE NAME OF BILL WARD IN THE ALBUM’S CREDITS, BUT THIS YOUNG GUY FROM RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, TO ME, WAS A GOOD CHOICE, NOT BEING ABLE BILL TO WORK WITH THE BAND, FOR ANY REASONS…. BRAD HAS NOW SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL TO BE PROUD OF……HE HAD PLAYED AND RECORDED IN ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF ONE OF THE BIGGEST ROCK LEGENDS… GOOD ONE FOR YOU, BRAD, AND AGAIN, CONGRATULATIONS FOR YOUR FINE WORK IN THE “13” DRUMS.

  14. robert stanford cam says

I liked Loner. You know, It sounds like Air dance from Never say die somehow…

  15. robert stanford cam says

hi Joe, Sorry to have called you John…

    Peace and love..!!!.

  16. I’ve been a fan of Sabbath almost from the beginning. I grew up hearing it because my older brother was a fan. The first album of theirs that I ever bought was Sabotage, and to this day, I consider that album to be the height of the Ozzy era. Don’t get me wrong, I love the works that followed. But Sabotage (and to a good extent, SBS) had a level of emotion, sophistication, and complexity that the Ozzy lineup never recaptured. As such, whereas I very much like 13, I am disappointed that they limited themselves to the more basic sounds of their early days. All of these guys are capable of something far more interesting. If 13 is their final album, it’s certainly nothing to be ashamed of; but neither is it their hallmark. If they do make one more, here’s hoping it rises to the lifetime’s worth of talent they’ve accumulated.

  17. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and revive a gag line from Kerrang magazine that was used 30 years ago for “Born Again” :
Q: What’s the difference between the new Sabbath album and a bucket of crap?
    A: The bucket!

I didn’t know what to think of “Born Again” at the time after coming off such a great 2 album run with Ronnie….BUT as the years past I found myself coming around to enjoying that album eventually.

“13” IS THE WORST Sabbath album EVER (an honor previously given to “Forbidden”)!
Rick Rubin was a bad move from day 1 and now it’s proven!
Okay so a #1 album….that’s only initial sales anyway?!
I’ll still consider going to the show, but only because it may be the last time (they’re only doing 2 songs at the most anyway)….

    • robert stanford cam says

You know guys, I have different opinions about Sabbath. First, I think Born Again is one the best albums ever recorded in the history of rock and roll alongside ac-dc’s Back in black and For those about to Rock. I liked thirteen even though I prefer The Devil you Know as previously posted. And strangely enough, Rusty angels is probably my favorite Sabbath songs… for me Forbidden is best than most of the albums Ozzy did. After all, Ozzy did only three good albums, being them: Blizzard of Oz, Diary of a Madman and Bark at the moon… The point is that people just can’t accept the fact that Ozzy was never so important and had never been a good vocalist…. IOMMI Is Sabbath and Sabbath is Iommi…

      Peace and Love…!!!

      • robert stanford cam says

        …better than… , not best…

      • Chad Hallman says

Ozzy has always been a good vocalist. NOONE has even been close to duplicating his voice. Many have tried , but failed. Including all the Ozzy/Sabbath Tribute bands. I have been listening to Ozzy for 41 years & still listening to him. Black Sabbath is NOT just Tony Iommi. Black Sabbath was & is & always : Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, Geezer Butler & Ozzy Osbourne.
Other singers have came in to keep the name going and all have done a great job in their own way. But still NOT the ORIGINAL, BLACK SABBATH.

    • You’re not alone Vinny. I have to agree I was massively disappointed with 13. It is a terrible album. Bad vocals from Ozzy, audio destroyed with massive compression (Rick Rubin’s trademark), bland, uncreative middle-of-the-road tracks. Overall a garbage album. I had such high hopes, I really did.

      • robert stanford cam says

        Hello Mark and vinny,
I also expected much more from this album. Nevertheless, we have to bear in mind the fact that Ozzy’s voice is getting worse day after day ( it was never good indeed) and Tony has been going through very serious health problems. At least, I liked End of beginning and God is dead? alongside Loner and Age of reason. I didnt’t listen to the other songs, hence I can’t come up with precise opinions about them…. but, you Know, It was a pity Dio died. They should be playing together, recorded another album, and, of course, under the name of Black Sabbath….Unfortunately Ozzy and Sharon think that they are the owners of the band, which is an absurd…. Iommi will always keep the flame burning…

        Peace and Love…!!!

  18. Chad Hallman says

Okay now with “13” here , Ozzy has been saying that there MAY POSSIBLY be another Black Sabbath record. He also said ,” If it comes to pass that we don’t make another record, then we can rest easy that we went out with doing it right with “13”.
I dis agree with that all together! Done greatly ? YES! But done right? NO WAY!!! And because without Mr. Bill Ward on the disc like he should of been, because he is 1/4th of the founding members, the disc was NOT DONE RIGHT!

  19. Well, I’ve had all 12 tracks for about a month now, and all I can say is that I don’t care what anyone else says:

    I LOVE THIS RECORD.

    “14” – with Bill Ward – PLEASE!
