Subject: Win a free copy of Ozzy's Black Rain
It's giveaway time again! Today is the US release date for Ozzy Osbourne's
new album, "Black Rain". After listening to it a lot over the last week, I
am really enjoying it, and hopefully you will too.
Anyway, I'm here to give away some copies of the album as has been my
custom on this site for the last few years. I've got four copies of Black
Rain here that are being given away. First off, I wanted to thank the folks
over at Epic and Sharon's office for sending over the copies to be given
away. If you don't win these contests, please go support the label and the
band by buying copies. Here are some ordering links:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000PA9Q4G/73407921This time out it will be a simple "email me your name and address" - no
trivia contest this time out. I will say this, though, don't flood my
mailbox. Duplicates will get automatically deleted, and when I'm picking, I
look for them too. Don't waste both of our times by sending in more than
one entry. It won't help you.
You need to send your name and address to blackrain@black-sabbath.com.
There's a few important things here. First the email must go to this
address. Second, you MUST to include your name and address. If you don't do
these things, your submission won't be considered. These are simple
requests - I'm quite frankly stunned at the number of people who ignore
these requests and send anyway. If you ignore this, your submission goes in
the bin. The contest will run through Friday morning the 25th at 10AM (my
time, which is the Central Time Zone in the US). You don't have to be in
the US to be eligible to win.

I attended the show on Tues May 15th in Uncasville, Ct. I was one of the
500 people to meet and get autographs from the guys. I was a great
experience. I 1st saw Black Sabbath in 1982 in New Haven, Ct I was 16 and
it was a blast. These guys put on a great show and know how to keep fans
going.

Saw the Cleveland show. As usual, Tony and the boys were awesome. The old
JayDee SG sounds as great as ever, as does Dio. But, I have to say: Tony
Martin! Tony Martin! Tony Martin!

Joe,
I first want to offer my sincerest condolences to you, Joe. I have a
tremendous amount of respect for you; you have overcome so much and still
came through for your fans and Sabbath fans as a whole. Hats off to you, my
friend, for persevering and continuing on with your newsletter. I think
that everybody who reads your newsletter is more than grateful.
And now for something completely different...
I recently purchased Black Sabbath's The Dio Years and I am quite
astounded.
The quality of the old songs is quite nice, in my opinion, considering I
have the first remasters of the Dio albums. Quite frankly, the three new
songs really impressed me. I was expecting another Psycho Man disaster.
Psycho Man was terrible, in my opinion.
Iommi's riffs in the new songs are incredible. They reminded me a little of
Fused in their heaviness. The Devil Cried gave me goosebumps when I first
heard it. Shadow of the Wind was a good slow, headbanging jam. Ear in the
Wall, though the guitar parts really caught my ear (no pun intended), the
lyrics were very strange. I was still quite amazed by the new songs. I am
more than satisfied and really hope that there is a new Sabbath/Dio album
in the works within the next couple years. A new original Sabbath album
would be nice too, for that matter.
By the way, I saw a little note of "thanks" directed to you in the CD
booklet. Congratulations on that, as well!

Hi Joe.
I'm really was surprised too with the level of the sound and the sleeve.
Only be original or nothing.
Thank you.

[ Ed Note: Unless you find a really kind soul, your only recourse would
likely be ebay where they're really overpriced. ]

PRICELESS.
I was so grateful to be there. For them to be there. It was a pleasure to
see them all. Vinnie was of course awesome and reminded me why I missed his
drums. Ronnie was flooring me. I missed Dehumanizer due to the kingdom of
kicks...drugs bikes booze and chicks back in the day. To see these songs
live, it was another dream come true. The stage was very cool too.
Tony also surprised the hell out of me. His solo's and playing had me
fucking hypnotized. Priceless Tony simply priceless!! Geezer was awesome
too. Geezer should remember his friends are always here for him.
Well I had perfect seats and totally enjoyed the show, I could make this
longer and more passionate but I wont. Ill just simply repeat that I just
cant thank all of those involved for making this happen. I wonder how we
will see Ronnie next?
Towards the end I wasn't ready to anywhere but they did a long show. Even
after some moderate drinking I found myself amped up for the next couple
hours. It was a great high!! Cheers and god bless you all.
Mike

Does anybody out there know if Dehumanizer, TYR, or Forbidden ever made
it on Vinyl...in the US?
Also, looking on eBay, I see all these "Special Brazilian" LP's by Sabbath.
What makes them so special?
Thanks to all!
[ Ed Note: In the US? No. ]

Many thanks for posting the video of Children Killing Children, I had not
seen this before, and this reminded me of what a fine album When the Bough
Breaks is. As a long time fan I have followed the solo work of each of the
Sabbath members and can say this album is in my top three. Bill is a fine
vocalist and songwriter and this is his best work so far.
I guess Beyond Aston is stuck in the record company machine as Bills web
site indicates its been ready for some time and there is no further info
available (otherwise you would have released it). What about using your
polls to canvas people on if they would buy it - might spur some action on
the record companies part ?
brgds, Mike
[ Ed Note: Bill has re-recorded the album a few times. That's where it is
now. It's not done. Again. Bill doesn't even have a record deal for it
yet. It's not as bad as that sounds though, but I can't talk about why,
I'm sure Bill would not be happy. The record label his first album was
on ceased to exist shortly after release, and the label for his second
doesn't have rights anymore, Bill does directly. There is no deal for
album 3 at the moment, so you can't blame it on a record label. There
isn't one. ]
