Vote for Lunarmile!

Who is Lunarmile? That's the band with Toni-Marie, the daughter of Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi on vocals.

The band is currently engaged in an unsigned band competition on the Kerrang radio site in the UK. LunarMile is up against four others, and it would be cool if you could help out Toni-Marie and the rest of the guys in LunarMile. Here's some details from the website where the contest is being held:

Carslberg @ Rockingham Unsigned Competition

Carlsberg presents 'probably the best Unsigned band festival in the world’ – Powered by K105.2 Rockingham is a cool raceway venue that is hosting the unsigned event on October 1st.

We are helping to find 2 bands that will play on the day, going up against 6 other bands. There will be a panel of industry judges there and Ugly Phil is hosting the day!

As the event is October 1st, the time to vote is RIGHT NOW. GO HERE to the Kerrang Radio site and submit your vote for LunarMile today. There's further details on all this at the Rockingham site, too.

More information on LunarMile itself can be found at their website at http://www.lunarmile.com.

Tony Martin News

This week, some big news hit about Tony Martin's new album, Scream. Tony signed a record deal with MTM Records in Germany to release the album. Here's a little of what Tony had to say on his website about it..

Eureka! I have become property of MTM Records in Munich Germany!!!

Playmates I am happy to announce the signing of me to them! Basically that means I got an album comin out, and sooner than I thought! It all was looking to being a 2006 release but hold that! It now gets released in NOFUCKINVEMBER DUDES!!!!!!! You've been askin me for a release, YOU GOT IT!!!!! So I'm expectin all you dudes to go get it! England expects every fan to do his duty!

This is good news, as Tony's second solo album is way way WAY overdue to be released. The artwork is shown here, and if you click on it, you'll go to my discography page for Scream. I little further research on my part shows the release date of the album being November 4, 2005. At least in Europe. Tony has told me there will be US distribution, but at the moment, I don't know what label it's on, or if it's the same date as the European release.

According to the press release by MTM, the track listing is:

1. Raising Hell
2. Bitter Sweet
3. Faith In Madness
4. I'm Gonna Live Forever
5. Scream
6. Surely Love Is Dead
7. The Kids Of Today Don't Understand The Blues
8. Wherever You Go
9. Field Of Lies

Tony's son Joe will be handling guitars, and Tony's singing. Cozy Powell is on drums on one track, and long standing Black Sabbath member Geoff Nicholls is on keyboards. Who is playing bass as well as drums on the other tracks I'm not aware of yet, but I have an inquiry out on that.

Additionally, there's a few statements Tony has made on his website in the past about the Scream release that aren't mentioned on this press release - I have an email to Tony about it, when I hear back, I'll update. These issues are:

  1. The track Unberable isn't listed anymore. It's either dropped or had a name change. This was said to have been cowritten with his son Joe.
  2. The track Wings of Thunder isn't listed anymore. It's either dropped or had a name change. This was supposed to be a second track with Cozy Powell on drums.
  3. Tony had said that there was going to be an "unnamed live Black Sabbath track" on the album. This is likely not happening, as there's no Sabbath track on the press release.
  4. Tony originally was going to have a limited edition release of 2,000 copies of the album. Whether that's still happening, I don't know.

I realize things change over time and are dropped - my point here is not to nitpick the release - far from it, I want to push this as hard as I can, I just want to make sure I have complete and accurate information. I've asked Tony to clarify these issues.

I don't have pre-order information on this yet, but when I do, I'll let you know. In the meantime, you can read some more over at the MTM site here, which has a news story on the Martin signing.

I'm back

I'm back and have done a full update on my Sabbath site. If anyone sent me anything, I've used it, so check the revision history page for a complete update on what's changed on the site.

Also, I've gotten several emails asking me to comment on the Iron Maiden / Sharon Osbourne fiasco. I don't intend on doing that. There's nothing really that I can add at this point that's unique. All I'll say about it is that it's one of the sorries things I've seen happen in awhile.

Hurricane Katrina

You know, as I sit here the last few days watching the coverage from New Orleans, and all the othe surrounding areas destroyed by the recent Hurricane, I have a hard time bringing myself to work on my websites. Some of the images I've been watching are particularly disturbing (dead in the water, dead on the side of the road in wheelchairs, and the impact on children), and have sapped my enjoyment of my leisure activities (of which this website is one).

I will update later once I'm in a better mood. I hope you understand. Remember, this is a fan site, not an official website, and when the fan running the site is in the kind of mood he's in, he doesn't want to do much in the way of fun things, as the tour reports of a rock band just seem insignificant.

Make a donation to the Red Cross, please. Thank you.
