Reviews by Luca Ciffo

Hi there!
I enclose two other reviews from my Sabbath's concerts in Milan.

1 October 1990
venue: Rolling Stone

Yes, it was the 1st of October (and not the 3rd), and the place was the Rolling Stone.

It was the first concert I attended in my life, me and my friends were already great Black Sabbath fans and we were really excited. The place was far from being sold out, the band wasn't the original line up, but we were in the first row and got mad anyway! We got bored with the opening act, impatient to see our heroes, then "Supertzar" came and it all started and we enjoyed it a lot; we loved everyone in the band, especially Tony and Cozy. We couldn't believe that the great Tony Iommi was playing and doing horns signs a few metres from us!  We left still excited and happy, hoping to have the opportunity to see the real Sabbath one day...it took eight long years, but it finally happened.

24 May 1994
venue: City Square

I must say that we had great expectations about this show because we knew that there was Geezer on bass!, so it was a bit like reaching slowly the original line up! I can't remember Godspeed, while we were good Cathedral fans too, mainly because they reminded us the original Black Sabbath: they played a Sabbath tune too (I can't remember which one), and they were evil and great. I admit that I wished Lee Dorian (Cathedral's singer) would have sung for Sabbath that night; not that I didn't like Tony Martin's voice, but Lee had much more the look and that seventies attitude... As I said, we were really excited about seeing half of the original line up, and we have been more than satisfied with a great show featuring a lot of very welcome surprises like SBS, Into the void, Symptom, etc...

Still waiting for the other two boys to come.

I have written these lines always using the plural because a great thing about Black Sabbath was that they introduced a bunch of "normal" italian boys like us to listening and playing music (and we still do!), to hard rock, long hair and rebellion. Thanks guys!
