I could easily draw a line to Guns N' Roses, System Of A Down, Iggy Pop, Primus, Godflesh, Mike Patton, John Zorn or Tom Waits, just to name a few.

The guy was backstage.. he played the Gong-flute...it wasn't publicised because said musician was in tax exile at the time, and couldn't get a work visa. But it happened.... believe me..

No, now you've really misunderstood the story: It was Daevid Allen who could'nt come back to England after touring with Soft Machine because his visa had run out (he's Australian), so he stayed in France. There he met Didier Malherbe who lived in a cave and played Saxophone, not flute, and they started Gong. You should really learn your Prog/Space-rock history... And none of them ever played in Primus. (This story is actually true. How cool isn't that? Finding your band-mate in a cave in France...) Originally Posted by devstorm
