    1983

It was a great year musically since we got:
    Dio - Holy Diver
    Black Sabbath - Born Again
    Savatage - Sirens
    Metallica - Kill 'em All
    Slayer - Show No Mercy
Motley Crue - Shout At The Devil
Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind
    Madonna - Madonna
    Alice Cooper - DaDa
Ozzy Osbourne - Bark At The Moon

Those I could think from the top of my head...might be others too... Funny thing is that five of them are debut albums...a lot great bands and artists started their career the year I was born...that's pretty cool

    Movies:
Videodrome (damn should have mentioned Jimmy Woods on the favourite actors list!!!)
Sudden Impact (My favourite Dirty Harry Movie!!!)
    Star Wars Episode VI (EEEEEEEEwoks)
Scarface (Say hello to my little friend!)
Evil Dead (horror took a whole new level with this one! Not to mention Bruce Campbell rocks!)
    Octopussy
Never Say Never Again (two James Bond movies!!)
Lone Wolf McQuade (Kick-ass, Chuck Norris Style!)

Great movies too! Those are probably my favourites from that year!

In conclusion we can say that 1983 was a great year...part from me being born that is....

    1965 (Officially an old git)

Music -- to be honest 1965 itself doesn't excite me there were bands who went on to make good records such as The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Beatles but in each case it's their later releases that I like. It's only really the Kinks stuff from '65 I like, their two albums that year were Kinda Kinks and The Kinks Kontroversy.

Films -- Awful year for films! But there was For A Few Dollars More and Thunderball

Cripes, what a load of young 'uns...

    I was born 28 January 1966.

Lyndon Johnson was President of the United States.

Lester Pearson was Prime Minister of Canada.

Harold Holt was Prime Minister of Australia.

Harold Wilson was Prime Minister of the UK

I didn't start getting into music or movies for several years after that.

    Movies (ones I've actually seen):
Batman (the original hilarious one with Adam West, one of my favourites)

    TV:
The Rolling Stones appear on Ed Sullivan
    First episode of Star Trek
    First Batman episode

    Music:
    Last Beatles gig
    Cream forms
    Jimi Hendrix Experience formed

    Man, I'm old.
He is not here. He has risen!

    1983 - Born Again
Bill's back again, after being away for one album. No wonder i became (mainly) a drummer. I've also belived i've reincarnated a bit of John Bonham & Keith Moon in me (died three & five years before i was born.

Otherwise, a whole lot of things happened in music in 1983. Go check it at wikipedia if you're interested.

As for movies, none that I can think of but, most of them were in black and white and no wide screen. Mono sountracks.
