Uriah Heap - Wizards: Best of (Curious after seeing Heavy Metal Britannia documentary on BBC 4)
Stevie Ray Vaughn - Best of
    Rory Gallagher - Best of
Velvet Revolver - Libertad (after rediscovering the Contraband album via iPod Shuffle)

Also picked up Metallica's ...Pippets, ...Justice and ...Lightning, Megadeths Killing Is... , United Abominations and Endgame, Orange Goblins Healing Through Fire, Judas Priests Stained Class and AOR and finally Guns & Roses Chinese Democracy (yes, I do actually rate the album highly) on Vinyl (the joy of gift vouchers!)

Just ordered some albums that, again, have been on my shopping list for ages. Also purcased a nice Sabbath shirt from the TDYK tour. All from the fantastic Levykauppa Äx:

"The consequence of conscience/Is that you'll be left somewhere/Swinging in the air"-Ronnie James Dio (1942-2010) R.I.P. King Of Metal
"Just take a look around you what do you see/Pain, suffering, and misery/It's not the way that the world was planned/It's a pity you don't understand" - Geezer Butler
"If god is in heaven/How can this happen here" - Phil Lynott (1949-1986)

Cool shirt, we need more Sabbath merch. I can't really find any band merch for good prices, I'm tired of paying 35 bucks for tshirts of my fav bands. More like 10 bucks or less is enough for a tshirt

Though I have The Life & Crimes Of Alice Cooper box set covering much of the early years, I've decided to collect some more of the full classic albums, like the previously purchased Love It To Death, Killer and School's Out...

Now I made an addition to my CDON.COM invoice order (Thin Lizzy's Nightlife is still to be delivered), the 2CD reissue of this magnum opus for only 9,95 €...

Well, I have finally complete my Sabbath collection (for now till the rest of the DE's come out). I'm not even going to bother getting Cross Purposes Live since it's so hard to get and will eventually come out in due course anyway.

Black Sabbath Live in Paris 20/12 -1970 (Vinyl Bootleg).

What I can remember buying this summer:
    BLACK SABBATH- Cross Purposes
    OZZY- Ozzmosis
    DIO- Last in Line
    DIO- Dream Evil

It's sort of been a dull summer for my CD collection, as you can see. A stark contrast to buying about 18 CD's from Christmas Day to mid-January, lol.

On CD I just picked Kiss' Sonic Boom. The recent Kiss thread inspired me to go back and listen to some Kiss and this is one of the few albums of theirs I haven't heard. I haven't listened to yet (only picked it up last night) but it has a long way to go to compare with Ace's Anomaly album - the most recent album from the Kiss camp. Likewise, Sonic Boom also has a way to go in comparison to Paul Stanley's Live To Win album too. Fingers crossed though.

Also found on vinyl a copy of Queen's Rock You in Rio.

Finally, ordered on Vinyl Juds Priests Painkiller, Iron Maidends AMOLAD, Candlemass No Sleep 'til Athens and Epicus... and MEgadeth's So Far So Good So What.

2 near-mint items from my trusted auction dealer...

I already have both of the studio albums, I've been eyeing this one too...
...and it just doesn't get any cheaper than this...only 7,00 €...

Had this album back in the day, chose to sell it few years later because I had no money...bought the digipack reissue with bonus tracks almost 3 years ago...now I just had to take this original Noise/Modern Music 1997 print for only 9,00 €...

I agree and congratulate you. It's the official 3CD EMI box set, an excellent compilation. Plus the cover artwork is simple yet ingenious.

Now rock on to SAXON!!! To say they are underrated is an understatement. Live on stage...they're unbeatable.

Ordered these from the 30% discount campaign of Record Shop X...

The total discount was 25,68 € + the 17,00 € discount from the full coupon...the final sum was only 38,82 €...

I've had both of these on DVD since they were first released, but I always appreciate great live audio too...

I experienced their astounding comeback show back in 2005 so this is a perfect token of remembrance from that time...

Of course, I had to take this one too...

Good thing that I noticed your post - thanks to it, I got Budgies classic "Bandolier" with a nice discount And on top of that, it was their last copy.

I'm still waiting for the Astral Doors and UFO albums from the previous order to arrive, but I already have the Sabbath shirt. Here are the new additions:

So I haven't bought a new CD in years, but since I'm waiting on my household goods (which includes all my records, CDs, tapes) to arrive (it's already been well over a month!) and since just about everything on youtube is blocked here in Germany (well, at least most albums) I decided to go into the store here on the army base to buy a CD. Horrible selection of course, leaving my best choice as buying Ozzy's Scream. (see, the reason for the long build-up was to justify my purchase). It's not completely awful actually, but doesn't hang together as an album very well, it all gets tiresome by track 3 or so. I started to write a review on it called "No Grampa, No Grampa, No!" (a play on "go white boy, go white boy, go!" because he uses hip hop type vocal rhythms on a couple of the tracks, and cause he's old, and that exact rhythm shows up in a few spots, and cause it just seemed like a ploy to be hip or something), but I lost interest, I still like the title of the review though.

Just picked up a Best Of... by Budgie.

I heard a clip of the bands music on a docu on BBC4 some time ago and I liked what I heard so when I finally saw a copy of this best of available locally, I snapped it up. I can see it occupying my stereo for some time and I may end up looking for some of their albums - likely starting with In For The Kill. I'm exceptionally pleased I found this best of.

I only discovered earlier today that Metallica have covered two of their songs (Breadfan and Crash Course in Brain Surgery). I think I will hold listening to these until I know the originals better. If Metallica's covers of Diamond Head are anything to go by, theor covers will be good but fall just short of the originals - though the same can be said of most good cover songs.

Final order for a good long while:

Budgie - In For The Kill, Never Turn Your Back On A Friend & The BBC Recordings - This band has grown on me a lot as the best of I recently picked up has been played very heavilly both at home and in the car.

My Dying Bride - A Line Of Deathless Kings, Like Gods Of The Sun, 34.788% Complete & The Voice Of The Wretched

Lots of listening to do when they arrive

Not exactly album purchases, but special & genre-specific 100-page metal magazines...auction deal of 26,83 €...

Surely reading these will give in many ways similar experiences just like listening to the albums of the featured bands...plus there's a bonus CD included with both magazines...
