Fire Up The Blades - 3 Inches Of Blood
The Chosen Few (do not know why I bought this - I have all the Judas Priest albums excluding Nostradamus) - Judas Priest
[cool liner notes from those from the metal world that chose the songs]
...and a very guilty pleasure on my part - Born This Way - Lady Gaga (hey it has a song called Heavy Metal Lover that thought I just had to hear)

^Most likely not. However I did find it in Joe's Amazon Links page.
Let me tell you now, about a friend of mine. He tried to shoot them lights, with whiskey and the wine. He didn't get so far, ah his gun was wrong. Now my sweet friend, where's your song? Shoot out the lights, shoot out the lights.

    Double CD.

The EMI releases are always of highest quality, visually and most definitely sonically. The best remasters in the market.

It sounds just like classic Tull. I'm only on my first listen, but I'm pretty damned impressed with what I'm hearing.

^^^Thanks for telling us about this one Ady, I had no idea it was coming out! I just listened to samples of it on Amazon and decided not to buy however, the examples there have nothing of the power of the original to my ears. This amazon review (third one listed) I found kind of sums up what I thought on hearing the samples:

The almost "Comeback" album - I think (besides the horrid production) that you will enjoy them both immensely, just do not expect Master Of Puppets
I personally like the EP BM a bit better than DM.

Death Magnetic's compression is one of the reasons I have doubts about the new Sabbath album's sound

As for what I've gotten over spring break, I very much worked on collections instead of buying new albums or albums from artists that are new to me like I originally intended, the $5-$10 price tag over the $15-$20 was very influential, plus I've started to delve deeper into some bands I hadn't previously liked as much:

    Kiss - Kiss
    Kiss - Hotter Than Hell
Kiss - Rock & Roll Over
    Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden
    Iron Maiden - Killers
    Rush - Fly By Night
    Rush - Hemispheres
    Rush - Permanent Waves
    Rush - Snakes & Arrows
and after putting it off for entirely too long: Heaven & Hell - The Devil You Know

Those are all awesome albums imo - great choices Musicman11! Hotter Than Hell is one of the best of the early Kiss albums and those two Iron Maiden albums kick some serious ass!. Plus the musicianship on those Rush albums is superb!

Yeah Hotter Than Hell has probably become my favorite Kiss album period, I really love the raw heaviness of the whole album. It's not too pollished like Dressed To Kill and Destroyer and has a better overall track listing then the debut, R&RO, or Love Gun. The other albums don't really count in comparison to me, so there's that.

Then as far as Rush I really just gave them a chance out of the Moving Pictures and 2112 albums and I'm loving every minute of it, superb musicianship indeed. Now I just need to get the remaining Rush albums from the 70's at some point. I really love Fly By Night just due to how Geddy's vocals sore. Snakes & Arrows was sort of an impulse buy not knowing much about current day Rush beyond the fact the song Vapor Trails wasn't to my liking all that much, but I was pleasently surprised by the album and coupled with the singles released from it already; I'm looking forward to Clockwork Angels quite a bit.

Then for Iron Maiden, I've always held off on buying any Maiden album (with the exception of Virtual XI due to the cheap price) due to the higher prices at stores and plus I was never a huge fan of Bruce the material, just enjoyed it. I liked Phantom Of The Opera enough and noticed the debut alongside Killers for $10 each, so I took a leap of faith and bought them. I absolutely love both of them, and I think, however unfortunate you may view it, that I have become a big Di'Anno fan over the likes of Bruce. Not saying I don't enjoy Bruce, but it's just to me Paul is so much better.
