Testament - Return To The Apocalyptic City
Brian "Head" Welch - Save Me From Myself
Megadeth - Peace Sells (2004 Remix and Remaster) - Not paying a ludicrous price for the new remaster with the second disc.

I had meant to mention earlier in week that my copy of the Gillan/Iommi - Who Cares double album turned up, but John Lords death kinda over shadowed things and I forgot. I haven't actually listened to it yet!

Gamma 2 - after a few listens I think it is definitely the best thing Ronnie Montrose did outside of the debut Montrose album.

I have the original CD print already, but I wanted to have this Expanded Edition as well...My good friend did a favour and ordered this for me from Play.com for only 6,99 €...eventually today he gave this to me as a gift...what a classy guy...

Tonight I won two auction deals from a known seller...

I have the original 1991 Sony/Epic CD print, but I wanted to complete my 1995 SBM remaster series with this Japanese Edition CD for only 10,10 €...should be like brand new...

YNGWIE J. MALMSTEEN'S RISING FORCE - MAGNUM OPUS - JAPANESE EDITION BOX SET
Even though I already have the 1995 European CD print and the above Japanese Edition Box Set of this majestic album, I wanted to have another Japanese Edition Box Set for only 13,00 €...This box set includes the same 12 song CD also in a prime condition and the English, Japanese and Magnum Photos booklets, but the card, the YJM custom plectrum and the Japan-exclusive "obi" strip are not included anymore.

I consider this purchase to be an investment in the future in the sense that the 1995 European CD print and the Japanese Edition Box Set of this album are not available anywhere anymore (except for the very, very rare auction deals such as this) and that I need to have this album with me always, so now with these copies I should be secure enough.

^^^^ when it was released in summer ' 85 , IMO , Exodus was at same level as Metallica and Megadeth .
this band would replace Anthrax for the Big Four tour .

One trip to the record store last friday night, after a brief visit to the nearest pub to boost the desire for new music, provided these:

    Genesis - Foxtrot

    Procol Harum - Something Magic

Jon Anderson - Olias of Sunhillow

All on gatefold vinyl, Olias... also with some pages in the gatefold with text and of course the mandatory fantasy-illustrations. Everything for 200 SEK, or 20€. Not mint quality, but nothing that bothers me at all, the "quality" of these is still much, much better than digital media imo. Maybe it's the mastering job, but the most striking example must be the Mellotron intro of Genesis "Watcher of the Skies", it's extremely deep and vivid compared to CD or Spotify versions.

I have budgeted 10 new CDs a month, yet in July I only bought one CD: Into Eternity's Buried in Oblivion.

I haven't found the time to listen to it yet even though I've had it for three weeks. I have the money to buy new music, but not the time to listen to it. This is the opposite of the problem I had when I was a kid.

@sabbathman: Coroner's 'Punishment For Decadence' is an excellent album, one of my all-time faves. Testament's 'Low' is thoroughly superb as well. That's a great couple of purchases!

@Tyr666: Totally agree about the cover! I have the UK vinyl and the original cover is fantastic. It'd be great to see the classic Coroner albums getting the remaster treatment, they deserve a loving update (particularly PFD and NMC would benefit) - I'm surprised they haven't been picked up before now.

@Franklin: I can totally relate to your problem! I have a handful of albums still in shrink-wrap, and only seem to listen to music whilst driving these days (and my daily commute is short!).

    As for my own purchases:

Testament - Dark Roots Of Earth
Great to see this getting plenty of attention from many others here. I too went for the extended version - four bonus tracks are hard to ignore! This album made it straight into my car and is getting plenty of play-time

    Iommi/Gillan - Who Cares

Not yet played, will get to it eventually I hope!
