Feeling bad for Tony Martin now as none of his were in my top ten, even though they are still great albums.
Shit, you got me there. Yeah, just forgot about it at the moment (It was still early in the morning for me when i posted that (11.30 in the 24 hour system)). Thank you for correcting/reminding me
I'll have to change Past Lives with Born Again.
So the new list would be:
First eight as they were, then Born Again, and hopefully the new album.
Reunion and Past Lives on a good 11th & 12th place.
Edit: No, actually, after thinking about it, i still think the two live-albums are better than Born Again.
But, yeah, the correction would have to be they recorded 9 studio-albums. (Lots of back & forth here now)

It's been said by some that Black Sabbath have six * "essential" albums and usually that means the first six recorded by the original lineup. I BEG TO DIFFER! Even though I can't honestly come up with a top 10, I'll list my top 8 instead:
8. 'The Devil You Know' ( In my opinion, this lineup would have continued on INSTEAD of them reuniting with Ozzy had Ronnie not passed).
7. 'Vol. 4' ( Arguably the only other "essential" album from the original lineup apart from the first three, and that's stretching it).
* The following SIX studio albums to me are the TRUE essential Black Sabbath records:
6. 'Mob Rules' ( Picked up where 'Heaven and Hell' left off, and rightfully so).
5. 'Paranoid' ( A great album even though it's discussed AD NAUSEUM, but I understand why).
4. 'Dehumanizer' ( The LOST Sabbath classic!! CRIMINALLY OVERLOOKED, and yes...BETTER THAN PARANOID!).
3. 'Master Of Reality' ( The last TRULY great album from the original lineup).
2. 'Heaven And Hell' ( The BEST Sabbath album since 'Master Of Reality' . Ronnie was the shot in the arm that Sabbath needed...BADLY!).
1. 'Black Sabbath' ( The foundation for EVERYTHING...good and bad...that came after it. Still a classic!).
It should be said that BOTH the first album and 'Heaven And Hell' are both neck and neck as far as the No.1 and 2 spots go. Arguably the two MOST IMPORTANT Sabbath records ever recorded. Great comments everybody. Thanks BDR.
1. Black Sabbath/Paranoid (Both of these albums are what started it all, they're both 2 legendary albums (which is why they're tied for 1st) and they set the pavement down for not only what Sabbath were to become, but many other bands)
2. Heaven and Hell (One of the Sab's finest. It's really a stellar album; I can listen to this album track for track everytime I play the album)
3. Headless Cross (I really think this albums deserves to be up there with the all time great Sabbath records especially after supposedly being regarded as one of the best Sabbath albums in years (at the time). It doesn't get as much attention as it should)
4. Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath (The original Sabbath in their prime, a real classic)
5. Mob Rules (You could say this is almost a continuation of H&H, another gem in the Sab catalog)
6. Cross Purposes (An EXCELLENT Martin era album, ALOT of great songs on here too, I can't understand how some people can say this isn't a heavy album)
7. Technical Ecstasy (An underrated Oz-era album, I have to say that I don't mind the bit of experimentation on this one, Tony's riffs and solos are phenomenal with of course Oz, Bill and Geez playing in top form themselves)
8. Born Again (I really wish this lineup would've lasted a little bit longer because this album was really good, and it would've been interesting to see what the follow-up to this would have been)
9. Dehumanizer (This is another excellent Sabbath record, really heavy, reminds me of when Tony and Geez tuned down during the Oz-era. Definitely one of the most underrated albums to EVER carry the Sabbath name)
10. Forbidden (I don't think this album deserves the hate, especially when there are some GREAT songs on here like Rusty Angels, Can't Get Close Enough, the title track, Kiss of Death, Sick & Tired, and Get a Grip. Sure, its obviously not the most landmark Sabbath record but, it is definitely better than its reputation. All fans of Sabbath should at least give it a try before knocking it)

Yes my friend! Guessing from your user name, you have more Ozzy era in your top ten than I do. Don't get me wrong, I love the Ozzy era, I just think all the other singers were better and the music more polished in other eras, although they really are all equal, just some are more equal, lol.
