Hard to vote because EVERY album with Tony Martin is great and a masterpiece for his own. But my favourite album with him is Tyr. This album sounds just epic and the keyboard work is amazing on this album! Geoff Nicholls did a great job in my opinion and Martin's voice is on a really high level. Only Sab can give me this "special feeling" when I listen to an album with Tony Martin. And always when I listen to Tyr I really start believing in norse mythology haha. :D Amazing record.

I don't know if I'm able to vote accurately on this thread. The only definite I can say is Forbidden is my least favorite (and even then it is a decent album). Tyr as a whole I think probably fits together the best, with the exception of Feels Good To Me, and all the keyboards work really well together on the album. Headless Cross has the darker fantasy themes and music that make it stand out to me. The Eternal Idol is a nice work that comes from many partipants that make it unique in it's own rights I think with some really top notch stuff. And finally Cross Purposes has Geezer, the most personal lyrics of the Martin years, and some brilliant riffs. But overall it really is too hard for me to pick a favorite, since they all pretty much are equal to me, where as in the other eras there was always one that stood out to me. Which is nothing bad since they are all consistantly good.

Actually, I like all of the albums with Tony Martin. To pick a fave was a bit of a preponderance for me. In the end I went with Headless Cross. That album seem so focused and thematically linked together.

I do play TYR its fair share of times too. Since TYR was so mercilessly bashed by the press, I figured it had to be a good album. Or at least a lot better that what the critics were saying.

My only complaint with Cross Purposes is although it is a strong album, it lacks the binding unity that Headless Cross has. My wish is to have the Cross Purposes Live re-issued as a DVD + CD package. Tony Martin gave a good performance, treated the earlier songs quite well and nailed the newer material. I know there is an abridged DVD out, but I 'd like the real thing returned to us.

Forbidden, decent material - wrong producer. Ernie C had good intentions. In all honesty, I'm not into Rap & Roll How many of you like the version of "Walk This Way" by Run DMC and Aerosmith? I rest my case.
