6th round with Mob Rules, the song that lives on almost unchallenged in my books...

    Sign Of The Southern Cross

The weight, the landscape, the wavy rising & falling sensation, the heavy drum slabs & guitar stabs, Dio's operatic high-soaring excellence above it all...Nice, very nice dynamic sound on this Deluxe Edition, the power is there and I hold the volume knob.

Fitting song for Ronnie's birthday I'd say: Dio - Here's To You

Here's to you Ronnie, where ever you are! May your light shine on forever and ever!
-Too many flames, with too much to burn, and life's only made of paper. Oh how I need to be free of this pain but it goes over and over and over again-

After the very first 7 rounds with this most fine album, I'm returning to the Dio-esque 67 celebration set for the 3rd run already...

Now the time has come for the final chapter...

Eddie Ojeda - Tonight (featuring Ronnie James Dio)
Black Sabbath - The Devil Cried
Black Sabbath - Shadow Of The Wind
Black Sabbath - Ear In The Wall
Dio, Iommi, Sarzo & Wright - God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
Heaven & Hell - Atom And Evil
Heaven & Hell - Bible Black
Heaven & Hell - Follow The Tears
    Dio - Electra
    ...

Dio is definitely one of the most addictive artists that I've ever heard in my life, timeless & stainless. The music, the emotion, the atmosphere, the Voice...

I will never surrender. This was a nice journey with Dio, again.

Next up...The mighty performance of the Holy Diver & a selection of some of the best classics...In Finland back in December 2005 we didn't get the entire Holy Diver album but we did get the majority of the album plus the song The Last In Line which was not played in London. Also, the screen video was a different version, it had the dragon flying across the sky & over the mountains into an inferno...

    Rainbow - On Stage 1976
Rainbow - Live In Munich 1977
Black Sabbath - Live At Hammersmith 1981-1982
Black Sabbath - Live Evil 1982

    Dio - Intermission EP 1985
Dio - Inferno - The Last In Live 1997
Dio - Evil Or Divine 2002
Dio - Holy Diver Live 2005
Heaven & Hell - Radio City Music Hall 2007

I'm also listening to the remastered & reloaded edition of the album that is 1 out of 3 ultimate classic albums in Dio's illustrious discography...the 6th round already...I could go on and on with this fantastic showcase of the best Dio-esque power...

    HOLY DIVER...

I've had the original CD version of this album for over 10 years, but I found & wanted to buy this remastered edition as well...I like the sound of both editions.

Let me tell you now, about a friend of mine. He tried to shoot them lights, with whiskey and the wine. He didn't get so far, ah his gun was wrong. Now my sweet friend, where's your song? Shoot out the lights, shoot out the lights.

    Truly a WTF moment

    But what about this
It's the same song but with the real Mob Rules playing at the same time. It's not just that, but I found the info box quite interesting:

Most of you probably know by now the striking similarity, which is most likely a rip, between the battle theme "Super Villains" found in the Spider-Man game, Maximum Carnage and Black Sabbath's "The Mob Rules". I was thinking about simply making another little similar music segment. However, I decided to edit, reorder and prolong Super Villains' duration to properly and more accurately sync it with The Mob Rules. The results plainly show they are pretty much the same song. No doubt about that. The solos are a bit different, but I have read that the solo Super Villains used is based off a solo Randy Rhodes did for a mix of Mob Rules later on. I have not heard it myself, but I wouldn't doubt it (sounds a lot like how Randy would play). Please enjoy this musical oddity, as well as all the rest!
Does anyone have some information considering the highlighted segment?

Stargazer. A song in recent time making me wonder should I change Rainbow to Heavy Metal instead of Hard Rock. I'll just stick with Hard Rock. But damn, song rivals that of Led Zeppelin's Kashmir.

Black Sabbath - War Pigs (live from Dehumanizer tour)

I've always felt that Ronnie sung this one to perfection! Ronnie's voice just fits this song really really well and he made it sound even more heavy (just as it would have been even possible!) but that is how good he really was.

Time for the last Dio-esque live album...

    Rainbow - On Stage 1976
Rainbow - Live In Munich 1977
Black Sabbath - Live At Hammersmith 1981-1982
Black Sabbath - Live Evil 1982

    Dio - Intermission EP 1985
Dio - Inferno - The Last In Live 1997
Dio - Evil Or Divine 2002
Dio - Holy Diver Live 2005
Heaven & Hell - Radio City Music Hall 2007

What a fantastic recording this was! A perfect token of remembrance from the grand times of 2007...I still can't believe this was Dio's final official live recording...

    --------------------------------------------------------------

I'm also adding Dio-esque live DVDs into my program...

Now that Murray has thrown the "priest" into the depths in the land of the lost horizon...it's time to go & find the Sacred Heart...

Rainbow - Live In Munich 1977
    Dio - We Rock 1983 - 1984
Dio - Super Rock Japan 1985
    Dio - Sacred Heart 1986

Dio - Evil Or Divine 2002
Dio - Holy Diver Live 2005
Heaven & Hell - Radio City Music Hall 2007
    Heaven & Hell - At Rockpalast 2009

The combined performance of the songs The Last In Line & Sacred Heart with Dean the Dragon just made me shiver to tears of wistful sadness, speechless awe & proudest joy of being a fan of everything Dio, what a powerful show the Sacred Heart 1986 with Goldy was...

Dio's performances on these live DVDs form a solid proof that he truly was and will always be remembered as the very best & most powerful vocalist in all of rock & metal.
