Default DIO charity auction item, check it out!

Big Jim Hoefelt is selling an Epiphone Les Paul, fully signed by FOREIGNER (w/ former DIO bassist Jeff Pilson), all proceeds going to STAND UP AND SHOUT.

You can "Buy it now" for the asking price, or make an offer here:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=150467352535
Several pics of the guitar there, w Pilson, etc.

REMINDER, this is the same Big Jim doing the DIO tribute/memorial fundraiser in CT on July 23, see details here (check out the list of raffle prizes, etc, don't miss this if you can help it!):

    Description from the auction:

"This new Epiphone guitar was donated by former Dokken/Dio and current Foreigner bassist, Jeff Pilson, when they performed at The Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut on June 18th. It's signed by ALL six Foreigner members and was donated for the purpose to raise funds for the upcoming Dio Tribute/Cancer Benefit event to be held at Toad's Place in New Haven, Connecticut on July 23rd. As a long term member of Dio, Jeff is devastated by the loss of Ronnie James Dio to stomach cancer as am I, a longtime Dio fan & friend. The show at Toad's will feature many bands & raffle items and ALL proceeds will go directly to the Dio Stand Up & Shout Cancer Fund...Including monies raised from this heartfelt donation which includes a Jeff Pilson/Foreigner guitar pick, a ticket stub and an after show pass from the show on June 18th."

So if you've got the scratch and want to get something cool while donating to Dio's charity, this is a great opportunity!

    All the best,
    PAULIE

I can't make out the signatures, but Jason Bonham was in Foreigner recently, and I don't know if he may have been one to sign it. If he was, that would be an additional reason for someone to bid on it.

Ummm....shouldn't you auction off something that has to do with Dio if you want a RJD fan to bid on this and make a donation to the SUASF? This seems more like something for a really big Foreigner fan.

Yeah I read that, I don't even know who Big Jim Hoefelt is. 1,000 bucks for a guitar signed by Foreinger is a bit much if you ask me. Good cause or not you've gotta be a VERY BIG fan of theirs or just have spare money to burn if you were to bid on it. Is there anyone who's really that big of a Foreinger fan? Jeff Pilson might peak some interest for Dio fans but his signature isn't worth that much.

Now if it were a guitar signed by RJD that would be a different story.

This thread exists to draw attention to an auction to raise money for RJD's charity, not because it's necessarily a "Dio collector's item" or that even the item is "worth" the potential price. Believe it or not, there are people who donate money for a good cause, not in regards to what they might be "buying" for it! I agree on several of your points, but you seem to be missing mine.

You also missed the "make an offer" aspect of the sale - So there just might be someone willing to throw their hat into that ring.

And kudos to Mr. Hoefelt for putting so much time and effort into the campaign, as well as Pilson and co. for the donation - Hope it goes well! He's gotten lots of cool donations from a couple dozen contributors for the July 23rd SUAShout fundraiser gig in CT, it's really nice to see so many people with their hearts in the right place.

    All the best,
    PAULIE
