    Music LIVE AT LAST questions

Does anybody have a transcription of the lyrics as Ozzy sang them and his banter on Live at Last? Just tonight, I was listening to it and was reminded of the alternate lyrics that he put into "Killing Yourself To Live" and his voice breaking during the intro to "Children of the Grave" and it made me laugh my ass off! And the bass on "War Pigs" sounds like Geezer's playing through an AM radio. And don't even get me started on Tony's rockabilly/jazz/blues/swing guitar break in "Wicked World." It's both powerful, goofy, coke-fueled and downright enjoyable to listen to.

Why are there quotes around the title "Live at Last?"

Why the choice of a photograph of the surface of the moon with a satellite in the distance?

Bonus trivia question: if you listen to "Wicked World," right around 10:36 as Ozzy sings "I lost my woman..." you can hear something that sounds like a synthesizer chord being played for about five seconds but there's no keyboard anywhere else on the album. Anybody else notice that? I've always wondered (for about 25 years, at least)

I don't know all the answers but one thing I DO know is the album was released by former associates without the consent of the band at the time and Sabbath had nothing to do with the choice of artwork. I remember in the 90's I picked up a copy of it that had a photo of a stone gargoyle on the cover. That copy sounded even worse than the "moon" one for whatever reason.

his banter on Live at Last?
It's been a long time since I listen to L.A.L. But to my recollection isn't the only banter "What Do You Want To Hear?"

And that Ozzy's voice sounded like it was day #1 of puberty. Reminded of that stupid Brady Bunch episode.

Killing Yourself to Live ("Live at Last" alternate lyrics)
    found them here: http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/vi...2107858568513/

Well people look and people stare
They know you by the clothes you wear
They say your stupid 'cos you get so high
Pretty soon your gonna hit an die
    Yeah you'll die

You carry on and ya got so sick
Because you want to get the needle in
Well people say that you don't know why
And pretty soon your gonna sit an die
    Yeah you'll die

    It won't be long
    I'm telling you
    Oh yeah!
    Alright!

    Yeah you'll die
    I'm telling you
    Believe in me
    Oh yeah! Oh

    Smoke it - get high!

I think that I'm crazy, but baby
    I know that its you
I know that I'm lazy, but baby
    I know that its you

    Outlaw!
    Oh!
Everything's over now I feel insane
Fucking up baby going through my brain
Everything's wrong and I feel alright
Go my baby gonna hold me tight

I don't know baby in twilight bright.
Some how baby you'll fuck all night
Everything's over and I feel insane
Coming up baby gonna do my brain
    Lets go!

    Yeah! We love you
    Yeah!

Funny you mentioned the alternate lyrics to Killing Yourself To Live. I mentioned that I'm just about to start recording my own version when I was on facebook last night, and someone suggested I should do the alternate lyrics from Live At Last.

LIVE AT LAST was NOT and official release from the band, it was released against their wishes, after their very nasty dirty court battle to get out of their originsal contract. The Writ, that appeared on Sabotage, was a song about their former management and contract. The album is bad, the production stinks, and songs sound terrible, lots of feed back squeal coming out of Tony's guitar, Ozzy misremembering lyrics left and right... I wouldn't call them "alternate lyrics", they're "made up because I can't remember the lyrics" more like it....Hey, when your around for 40 some odd years, there's lots to like and lots to bash... put this one in the bash catagory.

Sorry but i don't really agree with that statement, nothing against you it's just your opinon, but i really like Live at last, it has great songs on it, great jams, and the production isn't great but could be better. I don't no why you said the songs sound bad becuase i certainly don't think they do. And the Ozzy forgetting lyrics, really so - what, thats what makes me love Ozzy. (with other things of course) but i think it's a really good sabbath record.

Also yes i've always heard "keyboards" bit in the Sometimes i'm happy bit. Don't know what it could be.

I didn't know the feedback squeal on Iommi's guitar was something to complain about. I always that that was such a badass way to start off a Sabbath song. Go figure.

I'm also puzzled about why screwing up lyrics live is such a big deal. It's live. It's rock n roll. Rock is meant to be at least partly spontaneous. I think it's sometimes kinda funny when a vocalist forgets the lyrics. Plus it's Ozzy. He's all about attitude. Not giving a carbon copy performance of the album.
