He was very cryptic about all his things that he could be doing musically in the future. Definitely leaves me wondering and has me intrigued. I'm sure it'll be great whatever it is as long as Iommi is involved. I'm especially wondering what kind of tour he will be doing next year... I wonder if it'll be a solo tour. It would be nice to see Fused finally toured for. I'd pay good money to see that. Any body know if Glenn is gonna finally be taking a break from BCC next year? Otherwise I don't know what it could be? New project? Sabbath reunion? Isn't Ozzy still on tour next year?

    Sounds extremely exciting!

New music for the movies (I wish they'll make a soundtrack album with all these songs included!!!), some other project...and a tour next year!!! A solo tour made of Seventh Star, The '96 Dep Sessions, Iommi & Fused?!? I also would pay good money to see a show like that!!!

"I am looking forward to going on another tour — I would love to do that, and I will be doing that next year."

This is more than I dared to hope for, surely GREAT news. I just wonder what musicians he will bring with him, and maybe even more interesting, what parts of his amazing career is going to be played. Seventh Star is maybe too much to hope for, but it can't all be War Pigs and Paranoid all over again now can it? I really hope he makes something interesting out of this, but ofc I understand giving fans like me what they want usually ends up in commercial ruin ^^

Whatever this turns out to be, I will make sure I have a ticket/album.

Whatever the man does, it'll be worth seeing. In a way I hope it's not another reunion with the original line-up as I've seen them a few times on the last reunion, and I don't think they could be as good as they were. If I had to bet on it, I'd say maybe a Iommi/Gillan tour or a solo tour with a completely new singer. But I could be (and probably am) completely wrong!

This is interesting. I hope it's not with Sabbath though...anything but that really and I'll be happy and going to see it if I can....but I seriously doubt it will be Sabbath, since Geezer already said it won't happen so it won't.

I would love to see Iommi/Gillan hitting the road more than anything (okay Iommi/Martin would be a dream come true, but that isn't going to happen either) but I'm not sure Ian would be willing to put Purple on the hold for that, since they're planning the Orchestra tour again and a new album next year...

A solo tour would be great it would give a good opportunity for him to play anything he wants...if he chooses Glenn Hughes okay then...he's not my favourite and I've never really liked his style, but I'd go see it anyways!

Wow, Tony wants to put out an album with Ian and play live, that would be cool.

I would love for him and geezerto start another band with a singer who would be open to singing any era of sabbath music...just don't know who that would be yet? I truly do believe the orignal sabbath members will do some sort of reunion again It may only be a couple of shows or maybe a handful before it is all done and over and hopefully another live album or dvd will come out of it. Tony and geezer are just awesome together and I will welcome any future projects they do.

I'm excited those for those movie soundtracks! Will it be typical heavy/doom metal Iommi style? Or will it be completely different considering it's for movies? I can't wait to hear it, whatever it is.

Well I do hope for a Sabbath reunion of some type. Here In America if we want to see him on tour, other than New York L.A., and maybe Chicago I don't feel many tickets would be sold or much interest. Sorry to feel this way butr look at the Tony Martin tours I believe only the Cross Pourposes went off with no cancelications do to poor or no ticket sales. Now I would travel to Chicago to see any Iommi show but how many tickets would be sold in Louisville Ky, Atlanta Ga, Columbus Oh, Las Vegas Nv ect...? Few, very few. So here is to an Iommi tour for the US with the sabbath name and Ozzy of Ian Gillain as singer.

I think this would be the best scenario. They could play any Ozzy or Dio era songs plus Born Again and Cross Purposes.

What makes you think it won't happen? Martin himself said in an interview roughly 2 months ago that he would not be against working with Iommi at all again as long as it wasn't Black Sabbath. Is it highly unlikely? Yes, but you never know!

We're on the same page though. The last thing I want to see Iommi do is get back together wish shozzy and one thing I would love to see him do is get back together with Martin.

I just find it hard to see glenn hughes or Ian gillan joining tony now because they are both busy with their bands touring and working on future albums.Tony Martin would be a great choice.Could you imagine a band with geezer,Tony, jon lord,Tony martin and Vinny appice.

Joe seems to think it's highly unlikely too as I've seen him express this many times on this forum. Even after that interview where Martin said he would be open working with Iommi again as long as it wasn't in Black Sabbath. But then again he would probably know better than us because I think he talks to Tony Martin from time to time. Or at least knows him better than we do probably.

Don't take me as trying to rain on the parade though because I would love for TM and TI to be in a band again too! Probably more than any singer Iommi could team up with honestly... In a way Sabbath could carry on that way with them going around playing the martin era tunes (maybe a new album?) But I'm just trying to be realistic...

Well cwilder86 pretty much covered it for me...thanks buddy!

We all know Heaven & Hell was Black Sabbath, there is no denying it, they all said so too.
The same thing would be if Tony Martin, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bobby Rondinelli would get together...they could call it Cross Purposes, Headless Cross or Tyr but it would still be Black Sabbath...and TM said that he would never be in Black Sabbath again...so that's it.

I could however see them doing an album together, Tony Martin and Tony Iommi and some quest musicians perhaps...but touring...I don't think so.

Just call it "Heaven in Black", wouldn't that be a pretty badass name for this Sabbath incarnation.

Oh yeah. It sure would. It would combine both Black Sabbath & Heaven & Hell as well as the Tony Martin Era.

Well, I don't know if it was too much fermented apple juice, the euphoria that a couple of my D&D characters maganed to advance levels yesterday afternoon, or that last night our pub quiz team didn't do as badly as we feared (5th out of 9), but last night I dreamt that Tony had joined Deep Purple ... not sure the exact rest of the line up but Gillan and Lord were included!

I am really fine with what ever Iommi chooses to do in this phase of his life , obviously after Ronnie's passing both he and Geezer seem to slow down their pace a bit , we should not expect a lot touring as they did a couple of years back with H&H , I'm really fine with Tony just hitting the road with bunch of great musicians under just his own name and own banner 'Iommi' playing whatever classics he would like to from his long spanning career with Sabbath and solo albums ! would be fun for sure ....

That's exactly what I want him to do...

And since I live in the UK chances are I would be able to make it to a gig.

“Ian and myself often talk about what we would like to do, it’s future things. We would like to do an album, and we would like to do some live shows. It is all dawn at the moment to availability. And Ian is with Deep Purple now, I am busy this year, and once we’ve got the time, we are definitely going to sit down and come up with some more ideas to put in album, and possibility to talk about some shows”.

He could team up with Tony Martin and play infront of tens possibly hundreds of people or he could play stadiums full of people with Ozzy.
Not to forget that Tony Martin has never producet a decent song in his life and never will, so the changes of coming up with anything even litte worth listling is near none.
Ian Gillan did 2 songs with Tony in WhoCares project and their both better than everything done after Born Again,so that would be i' d like to see happening, though not likely.

Fair enough, but you still basically stated your opinion as fact. Saying "Tony Martin never produced a decent song in his life and never will" is just a bit harsh...

Would love to see Tony teaming up with Ian again, the only problem is while I enjoyed the two WhoCares tracks it's clear Ian basically has no upper range or power left in his voice, so not sure how he would manage a full album of heavy Iommi riffs. Not to mention when it comes to playing live there's probably not a single song from 'Born Again' he could still handle so how are they going to fill up the set?

Tony Martin has been on and cowritten many great songs during his career. But that's beside the point.

I think Ian and Iommi could perform many songs from Born Again. They'd just have to reimagine how they're performed is all. Dio reimagined how many of the Dio era songs where performed on the latest tours, his recent performances where much different from past ones. He pulled it off and im guessing Gillan could too. He's still doing Classic Deep Purple songs I'd give Iommi and Gillan the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the songs they could do.

As far as his demonic laughing and shrieks, I'd be okay if they just played those on a prerecorded backing track if they wanted too.

I'm sure Iommi would play in front of more than 100's of people if he decided to team up with Tony Martin again. I'll bet that the Martin era has probably gotten more popular too over time since it's first time around. I'm a new fan of it that would surely go to see if it were to happen. Besides, Iommi probably is at the point in his life that he has enough money and knows that nothing but trouble comes with getting involved with Ozzy. Plus you say Tony Martin has never produced a decent song in his life? Give the Headless Cross album a listen.

Any ways this is all silly at this point any way as it seems a new Gillan and Iommi collaboration is more likely at this point than a Tony Martin and Iommi collaboration.

    1. Tony Martin has music projects lined up for the next 2 years.
    2. Martin recently made it clear that he doesnt wanna be in the band where each nite he sings 3/4ths of it songs from other singers.

IMO it's foolish to think that if Iommi were to call and say 'Lets do a song for this unnamed project' than Martin wouldn't at least consider it.

Who says if him and Iommi did collaborate that it would include songs from other singers... I don't see any reason why they wouldn't just play stuff from the Tony Martin Sabbath years (same thing with like Heaven And Hell did). Just call it Heaven In Black. Make a new album to go with it and make it all the more interesting.

I would be all for that. Whatever Iommi does, hopefully it includes a new album or at least an EP of new songs at least. A tour is cool, but an album would be even better. Of course both would be preferable.

He did enough albums with Tony Martin, there would be no need to sing anything but Martin/Iommi songs. Especially if they recorded some new material.
