    Glassescool SG Owners Club Group!

    Hello all!
I recently created a group for owners of SG style guitars to post some pics of their axes and talk about the model we love.
    Anyway here it is http://www.black-sabbath.com/vb/group.php?groupid=5

I'd love to see your SG's (to those who own them)

Used to have an Epiphone SG, one of the cheapies, still loved it though. Ended up selling it to a student and bought an American Telecaster, the first time I ever spent a decent amount on a guitar. Teles are more versatile I think, but you can't beat the heavy tone of an SG.

I'm actually more of a Les Paul player than SG, But I have owned a few SG's. I'll upload some pics!

Here's a vid of me and an Epiphone SG I owned back in 1996:

I will join, don't have any pictures yet but I can fix that. Got an Epiphone "Vintage Cherry" SG, a really nice guitar. I tuned it down 1/2 step (to be able to play "Sign of the Southern Cross actually) and changed the pickups to humbucker-sized P90 (they're called "Rebel 90" or something, don't remember the brand right now). Being a keyboardist I don't end up playing my SG that often, but it is always nice to practise as much instruments as possible, to get a deeper understanding when writing songs etc.

I only made a group especially for SG owners because of the Iommi influence here, and because I love em :D

Neat group :) Just joined and uploaded pic with my two SG's: Gisbson Standard and Epiphone G-400 with SD Phat Cat P90 pickup in bridge position (both are heritage cherry coloured).

Nice work Ave Fiend! Band still together? Was that an original composition? Good stuff. The Iommi/Hendrix influence is very apparent..

Thanks Cyb, That version of the band was toast about a year later. The song was actually our first original when the band started in '94, Our drummer came up with the music and my cousin wrote the lyrics. To be honest I never liked the lyrics! And yeah, Tony and Jimi were what it was all about for me in my early 20's, For years I tried to force myself to play left handed, never fully got the hang of it though. Cheers!!

That was pretty rockin Axe Fiend... are you still in a band? (I hope so!)

On topic- I use to own a cheap (400$) SG about two years ago; for some reason I did not even play it more than once or twice before I got rid of it. It was black and gold and even though it was cheap I truly cherished owning it. Maybe there is one in my future, I hope so.

No, haven't been in a band since Bone Hang finished (2003). I mostly just record stuff by myself, I've tried to get my ex band mates to do some writing and recording over the last few years, but they're either unable or uninterested. Lately I've been giving my nephew drum lessons in the hope that he gets into it, and I'll have someone to jam with. Cheers!!

Here's a tune I recorded with my brother in law a few years ago if you wanna check it out:

There's a new SG Diablo (Carved top) with a Floyd Rose:

Good for some Mob Rules and Voodoo.
