    Thumbsup Happy Birthday RLP4ever

    Hey Ron, it's your birthday. Find a bird or two and have a drink on me.
    Let me tell you now, about a friend of mine. He tried to shoot them lights, with whiskey and the wine. He didn't get so far, ah his gun was wrong. Now my sweet friend, where's your song? Shoot out the lights, shoot out the lights.

    Thanks so much, guys. Your warm wishes here mean a lot to me. I mean it.

    Cool that it's a Saturday today, week-end birthdays can be just as fun. I spent just under two hours (1:00 p.m onwards) at a local outdoor concert, featuring two ace aussie hardcore acts, and a few other raucous rockers that gave everybody a good time. Gorged on some great food, as well. Haven't got any presents yet, and the day is almost over. Got a huge hug from mum, though, and sweet greetings from my two sisters, and a late call from dad, who's on a brief tour in New Zealand. Other than that, drank far more than usual, flirted far more than usual, and felt a little happier than usual. Good B'day all round, though hitting the middle-30s (I'm 35 today) doesn't feel exactly fabulous. Wish you all were here!

    tanz, thanks a ton for the wishes, and spare a prayer for Spurs. They have shattered my heart this early season. Hoping my own b'day could be a turning point, eh?

    Happy Birthday RLP. Hoist a Foster's or two.

    Don't know if you guys really drink that, but their ads over here suggest you do.

    Would you like to trade? I'm hitting 48 in two weeks.
    It sounds like you're having a great birthday already, but please accept my best wishes as well.

    Won 2-0 at Wolves! - they know what they have to do when it's RLP's birthday!

    Glad to hear you've had a good one so far, keep it going through the year!

    And 35's not so bad... just spare a thought for a 42-year-old...

    Thanks, Mob, for the wishes...I rarely drink beer, but funnily enough since you mentioned it, I did actually drink some Becks during the time I was at the outdoor concert I talked of, earlier. I was never too fond of Foster's, though many aussies drink it all the time. But then, they drink a few other brands of beer even more, I'm guessing.

    Yea, I did hear of that winning result, the next day in the sports news, on the telly. And it sure felt like a real bonus on my birthday.

    Well, neither 35 nor 42 is 'bad' really. It's just that I face the inevitable, and frankly, infuriating, inquisitive queries that married friends and other familiar folks always love to lob at never-married single bachelor blokes like me. But tanz, I vaguely remember you being a '71-er, so I figured you'd be 40, not 42. Again, it's all still cool as long as you're healthy and happy.

    You must be out of your mind, mate. I sometimes feel as if time (the years) just goes by much too fast anyway; can't imagine fast-forwarding thirteen years ahead. So no, no trade, no deal on age, ok. Lol

    @kamakazetom
    thanks Tom, I did have a fine day, all round. Hope you have the same on your own birthday. Stick around, and keep sharing your thoughts opinions with us all.

    RLP, when I hear beer and aussies in the same sentence, I always think of this brilliant scene from the Simpsons. Beer truly is the #1 beverage in your country

    Haha, the shameful truth is that I was born in 1970, and I'm actually still 41. Senility is already here it seems, I don't hit 42 'til March next year.

    Let this serve as a dire warning of what old age will be doing to you very soon!

    dev, I swear how Metal is (still) a daily feature of my life, all year round. And yea, as my birthday was nearly over, late at night, I actually sat down to watch Cannibal Corpse's latest dvd release (of this year), called 'Global Evisceration'. Cool way to wind up my b'day, too.

    @Totentanz
    I quite dread old age, anyway....so mate, don't you go scaring me with talk of senility and premature dementia. But hey, I hope you not only sail through your 40s in great health, but also keep your personal embers of passion for Metal forever aflame.

    @StarWanderer
    Yea, I completely see where you're coming from with that instant association of beer with Aussies. It's true, I reckon beer is easily the most popular and prolifically consumed beverage among aussies of all sorts. I'm obviously in the minority in not liking beer much at all.
