Good review, agree with pretty much everything. I remember the day it came out, I got it on cassette, they had a sticker on the front that said: Featuring "The Lawmaker", Black Sabbath's fastest song ever! or something like that. I don't think that album sold too well though, at least not around here, because they didn't even come to town that year to do a show (Saw them the year before on the Headless Cross tour and a couple of years later for Dehumanizer). BTW, I think Tony Martin made a push for that ballad to be on the album. Anyway, good stuff dude, You had me laughing a couple of times. Cheers!!

That blue screen is kind of hard on the eyes. Other than that, you keep it rolling! Personally, I sort of feel about the entire Martin era how you feel about "Feels Good to Me", but like you said, you're right, I'm wrong, and I envy you. In fact, I was so "meh" about the tape when I bought it that I ended up recording over it because I was out of blank tapes. I never regretted that. Anyways, I digress.

Another enjoyable review to listen to / watch.
    Comments:
    - I see "Lawmaker" as being adaptable to being about God AND about Tyr.
    - Even though the album isn't technically a "concept album", a lot of the songs do inter-relate, with the discussion of religion and the beginning of the world and whatnot. It is "almost" a concept album I guess.
    - Those video clips from "Feels Good to Me" are hilarious. Maybe I am able to enjoy the song because I never saw the video before. It'll never be a favourite or anything but I don't mind it. Don't envy me; it doesn't feel THAT good.
    - The punch line to the joke.... if it's not "your mom" I will be incredibly surprised. LOL

    Well, doctor Fukk lol

    My remarks on this review:

I agree 100% with you. It's kind of hard to believe TYR is a Sabbath album (for some time it was my favorite Sabbath album, btw), I mean, it's not moody, not doomish. But, with that said, it's really, really good. For me it was the natural step from Headless Cross (although some people complain about HC lyrics trying "too much" to be as dark as MK1 lyrics).

The band was tight, the music was good and the musicians sounded great on that tour.

About Feels Good To Me: it's a ballad and it doesn't fit on Sabbath's history, but still, there are some good things about it. It was the best choice for a single? No, it wasn't, but as you said, it was just (it had to be) a decision from above.

Again, you were brilliant, mate. You should do that with other things other than Sabbath. I mean, i would access a channel named "Reviewing Rock History with Doctor Fukk... And your mom". C'mon, think about it! lol

    Cheers, mate.

Great review as always Dr. Fukk! You definitely do need to check out the rerecorded "Jerusalem" Tony Martin did on "Back Where I Belong." Geoff Nicholls really shines in it because it has a lot more keyboards and not so much guitar. Well i'm sure that the guitar is still there but the keyboards are much more prominent in the remake. Still is a great remake. I'd still go with the Tyr version as the better one though.

nice review man! This is my favorite Martin-era Sabbath album, the vocals in Odin's Court simply blow me away every single time I hear them. The lyrics are just magic throughout the album, my favorite song is Anno Mundi as well, kind of like Sign of the Southern Cross Tony Martin style... I like it better than Sign though ^^
"There in the middle of the circle he stands, searching, seeking, with just one touch of his trembling hand, the answer will be found.
Daylight waits while the old man sings, heaven help me! And then like the rush of a thousand wings, it shines upon the one. And the day has just begun..."
    (1975)

"In the summer days we flew to the sun, on melting wings, but the seasons changed to fast, leave us all behind... Blind..." (1969)
