Default Fantastic tool to find new bands you may like

OK guys, so you like some bands and want to find more ones that you may like; you can ask your mates, but if you're a nerd with no mates and when you try to ask for help in some music forum all you get is trolls trolling about some insufferable sounds you don't care about, what can you do? Well here is the perfect tool for you:

    http://audiomap.tuneglue.net/

It is an audiomap of musical relationships. Type in your favourite band, it will show up as a node. Click on the node then "expand", and more nodes of related bands will appear. You can continue this forever! I started with Dio and got this (this is just part of what I got, to the far rigth not shown on the screen were thrash bands like Coroner or Onslaught):

It's not perfect (it missed Deep Purple!) but it is completely automatic.

    Have fun!

eh eh eh - pretty addictive eh, I tried to get from Dio to Justin Bieber but failed miserably! Anyone up for a competition, least steps from A to B?! Easy one: Dio to Deep Purple, I failed on my first attempt

I have played with this tool a fair amount and can say that it produces accurate and useful results. Not only is it fun (and addictive) but is a big help in suggesting bands to listen to as a follow-up. Perhaps too helpful. I can totally see myself spending the weekend listening to music.

I tried to expand Motorhead and it locked up. There really is only one Motorhead.

there's a couple more such tools, I'll find the links and post here.

Franklin, with Motorhead it's the same problem with Queensryche, it lock up, I think it can't handle the ¨ and funny marks in the names. Bug.

Found it, it comes from here:

it also has a great tool for movies, actors and directors

Nunoni, I've bookmarked your link. Time doesn't permit sufficient exploration today (I'm leaving in 20 mins. to attend a wedding out of town). Also, I found exactly the same thing you did with Queensryche. So, you're right, it must be a bug handling the "funny characters." Thanks once more for your post. I've had fun with this tool.
