I have not been around much either, but I have been keeping up with the reviews and they were awesome as usual. This one is no exception. Man, I would love Alice In Chains to cover Virtual Death should they cover a Black Sabbath song (with or without Layne of course, RIP). That song kicks major ass. I'm glad I'm not the only one liking Back To Eden, that song also kicks soo much ass. Can't wait for Forbidden, for when I first got it I played the shit out of it after finding it in a used record store back in '04-'05. I'm sure you got it all covered afterwards with the Reunions (Ozzy and Dio tracks). Probably should cover those as a one episode since you got five tracks to work off of, six if you count "Scary Dreams". Keep it coming man.
Let me tell you now, about a friend of mine. He tried to shoot them lights, with whiskey and the wine. He didn't get so far, ah his gun was wrong. Now my sweet friend, where's your song? Shoot out the lights, shoot out the lights.

Awesome!! My fav album of the Martin era, I dig every track on this bad boy, some of them are pretty dang heavy and doomy. You gonna do Cross Purposes Live next or go to Forbidden?

Oh BTW, found this is on Joe's discography link

Eddie Van Halen is uncredited as co-author of Evil Eye. He was supposed to play on the track, but scheduling conflicts prevented him from doing so. UPDATE: I was told in September of 2009 that EVH had nothing to do with this album at all.

I've been anxiously awaiting your Cross Purposes review for weeks man! Another awesome review! Hands down it is the best Martin album in my opinion. Hence why I own 3 copies. I am fortunate because one of them is the Japanese issue with Whats the Use. Such a killer track, i'm very glad you added it. I'll be eagerly awaiting Forbidden. I'm also curious if you are going to do Cross Purposes live.

Nice review, well done. Almost fell out of my chair laughing at the end.

I dont own Cross Purposes live. Blasphemy I know. And I have a shitty version on VHS (As you can see on my review). But if anyone wants to hook me up with a good version on dvd I will gladly trade for it.

again, thanks for checking out everyone.

Nice to hear you've been been pretty productive w/your band in the downtime, I'll have to check you guys out eventually.

Cp is my fav album from the Martin era and your review def did it justice minus the fact the I actually really like Immaculate Deception and never really cared for What's the Use, but I am glad someone likes Evil Eye as much as I do, if I could call any Sabbath riff "sexy" it'd be that one!

I'm with you here, might add that I also like "Dying for Love", even though the title of the song is (much) more fitting on a Whitesnake album, the song and lyrics are actually great :O "What's the Use" has always seemed kinda uninspired to me...

Haha, your bands video was hilarious! Loved it! Loved the Holy Diver and Star Wars reference as well.
But... I'm not a fan of the music sadly, but I'm not a fan of thrash though either.

Right on. CP is one of my favourite albums by anyone, period. Others I've played it for who had no idea there was anything called Black Sabbath still around in 1994 liked it too. This is one of those albums that has a good flow, beginning-to-end, with a good mixture of different styled tracks to keep things interesting.
Your music video looks awesome. Please post it somewhere on the board when it's done.

Augh, now I understand. Screwy me, as usual.

Evil Eye's riff reminds me of Bible Black, though.
But then again that song also reminded me of Zero the Hero. So that's a neverending circle of reminders.

I'm curious to see what you have to say about Forbidden next time.

Not sure I know what you mean... I don't want you to sell out, keep rockin', just saying thrash isn't my style.

It was just a lame joke since many say Metallica sold out with The Black Album we will have The Pink Album when we sellout.

Fondula, I will post a link to the Puppet video on the other bands section of this board.

    Thanks again everyone!

Haha, ok. I don't think they really sold out with that one, honestly I can't stand pretty much any of their stuff, but I know I'm a huge minority... and your better than me.

That was awesome! My fav so far. Watching these always makes me want to listen to the album of choice and although I usually know most the things you share I always learn or notice something new by the breakdown of it. One thing I'm really noticing about this album was it was very topical and it touched upon a lot of the things that were goin on in the world at the time. I love this album and it just seems to get better and better through the years. Nice vibrator btw, Liza..........
