    Default Chickenfoot III

Did anyone pick up Chickenfoot's newest album "Chickenfoot III?" If so, what is your opinion on it? I thought it was definitely a big improvement over the original album. I enjoyed it a lot. Definitely recommended that's for sure.

For me I enjoyed the first one more. This one is very good, and I love "Different Devil." But for me there were better songs on the first one through out

after few listening , I prefer the new album a little bit more than the first . I love it . Sammy Hagar has never disappointed me and Joe is Joe . Mike has that little magic thing in his voice , very unique .
    great band .

I have heard it only once, and that's just about enough. I honestly wouldn't have even tried to listen through this album had it not been for a lot of hype and superlatives surrounding its release, from the rock press and the band's fans. I admit to being very curious about whether Chickenfoot III would even be half as good as it was being constantly cracked up to be, prior to release.

But no, predictably, the album sounds to me like a slightly microwaved serving of some of the very typical cheap cheese & spam laden rock of Sammy Hagar and his bands. Joe Satriani's guitar seems to, for the most part, churn out fat streams of very over-processed, rather stale riffs. Utterly boring and unremarkable to my ears. Chad Smith's drumming, though, was pretty decent, in parts. But Sammy Hagar, as always, is the chief offender here, with his woeful whining voice and tone, customarily crappy lyrics, and just a very slick, sleazy shtick of a singing style that grates on my nerves. I think, specificially, the last 4-5 songs on the album absolutely bury it for me----third-rate tunes like Dubai Blues, Come Closer, Three And A Half Letters, Big Foot, Something Going Wrong press all the wrong buttons on my machine, for their maddeningly pretentious, pedestrian lyrics, the utterly bland musicianship, and just what you'd expect from Chickenshit, really.

...but, personally, I like microwave Macaroni & Cheese.

I don't expect this album to be any more than a by-the-formula slab of hard rock, with no new broken ground, but I am looking forward to it. Amazon.com reports that my copy was delayed but should arrive Monday (tomorrow). I'll report back after I've had a chance to give it a proper listen.

    100 % agree H.S.A.S. > Chickenfoot

I love Satriani but Neil Schon is a composer of genius . "Missing You" , "Valley of the Kings" and "He will understand" are classics
the rythm section is killer too . Aaronson is monstruous

I forgot the hit : Procol Harum's "A Whiter Shade of Pale".
despite the absence of the ghostly organ . Schon made a great job and Hagar's perfect ... again !

I am not much of a Sammy fan - I hate his work with Van Halen excluding F.U.C.K. wich was pretty good, but I do like him in the late 70s.
