So when I first read this yesterday morning I freaked out and yesterday was just terrible, I was upset all freaking day. At the time I was going to reply to this thread along the lines of 'No Tony!! This can't be happening! Please! We need you' etc

But yeah now that I have calmed down I decided I should reply to this thread properly.

Tony, you have given us (Black Sabbath fans and metal-heads alike) so, SO much. You owe us nothing, if anything, we are in debt to you. So, that being said, don't worry about the Black Sabbath reunion, if you need to cancel shows to ensure your health then do it! We know that you'll beat it, you have every single person who has ever enjoyed listening to heavy metal praying for your recovering plus, you are the godfather of heavy metal, so cancer is obviously more scared of you then you are of it.

    Get well soon!! \m/

    Best wishes,
    Maddy

Not very often that I post here......but I just wanted to say how gutted I was when I heard the news.

My fingers are firmly crossed for you Tony, may your treatment be a success and you get back to full health as quickly as possible.

Right now only your health is important.

    All the best

This really came out of the blue... as this kind of news always does. Upcoming tour, new album... they suddenly became non-important things for now. I pray and I believe that Tony will beat this evil cancer.

Tony, you mean so much to so many but now is the time to put yourself first... all other considerations are moot points right now. Get yourself back to A1 health, that is what's most important. I know you have so much more to contribute to this world so beat this fucker and show everyone that you ARE "IRON MAN!" God bless you and your family and know that the thoughts and prayers of millions of people are with you. I know you're feelin' it. Get well soon my friend.

2 days afterwards and I've got to admit this isn't any easier to think about, it's certainly come at an already depressing time for me in some personal regards. One of the biggest things I have wanted for a couple of years now is to see Sabbath (Or at the very least Ozzy.) in concert. Now with this news part of that may not come true (If any), and don't take that the wrong way. I would rather never get the chance to see Tony and the rest of the guys alive, then see any of them die within the next 10 years. It's just me expressing how saddening this is to a new fan who wasn't around for anything really before this happened. I have the albums to live with of course and that's where Tony will always live on (and for that matter the rest of the guys.) ultimately. The simple fact is, I wasn't that aware of Dio around his death and only got to experience it afterwards which meant that it didn't really hit me as hard, but rather made me look back on a legacy that I missed out on and see it for it was. But this as a whole is different, I've known about Tony for a couple of years, and really listened to him over the past year, year and a half. I've had the chance to really come to see him as a great musician and person all around, and now even as a new fan this hits me. Without Tony I would not be a guitarist whether it be directly through his riffs or all that he was responsible for inspiring. I really, really do wish the best for Tony, but I would like for there to be more information available about this. How much, if any of the tour will be completed. The news on the album. Where exactly he is in the cancer and what he is doing to treat. And finally Tony's personal thoughts on this, what he feels about and what he thinks he should do. I don't know really what to say, I'm probably just babbling, but I felt the need to say a little more in detail now.

I expect that, I was just kind of rambling because of just how I feel about all of this. So many questions, but those are least important at the moment.

Well you have to remember that Tony is a very private person. He doesn't usually talk about anything regarding his personal life or feelings...I seriously doubt this will be any different. Nor should it be....this if anything is a very personal matter and I shouldn't feel compelled to talk about it if he doesn't want to. He needs just to concentrate on getting well again...and put all the album and tour plans and everything else non important stuff to the back burner!

I have to, with respect, reply this thread a 2nd time. I'm a good basic person though not a bible thumper.

Mentally I'm trying to "send back" a juice Tony gave me as motivation.

Of my 12 surgeries, one I had 4x bypass and my lungs decided to stop processing oxygen. Instead of the normal 4 days in hospital I did 12.

I was discharged with a stay-at-home nurse and told complete bed rest for 2 weeks.

48 hours after being discharged my chest was wrapped in bubble wrap and with 2 friends on either side to keep anyone from bumping into me, I walked under my own power (slow) from the car to my seat for the PNC show of the Masters of Metal show. Sister and nurse freaked, all I could say was "What if he decides to retire and I never have the chance to see him again ?? If you don't get it, I can't explain it" It made total sense to me.

So Tony, I return the "juice" to you with best wishes

I have to say in this matter; IF he's going to use energy on anything, i'd rather have him using it on the album than the tour. Even if it means my ticket goes to waste...
(this might have sounded a bit egoistic, ofcourse there is that big IF. I guess you guys understand what i'm trying to say...)

All Metal and Sabbath fans in my country, Hellas/Greece, are sending positive energy to our lovely Iron Man. Cancer is terrible and my wish is to stop existing - because so many people lose their lives because of that disease. But Tony will get him ! Go Tony !!! We are with you !!!!!

Finally met him in person a while back (Ironman book signing tour) in London after what amounts to following Black Sabbath for 42 years now.

Get well soon Tony & see you on tour \m/

Absolutely. Touring should be out of the question at this point. And I'm sure they'll announce cancelation soon. But the album is something that can happen...it's something that Tony can do when ever he feels up to it in his home studio...

I haven't been on the Forum for a while. I logged in tonight to see if there was any chatter about a new 3 disk DVD box set with booklet I saw on ebay for Masters of Reality or a Cross purposes new box set. I wanted to see if those were legitimate releases. Instead... I learn about Mr. Iommi's cancer DX. I am stunned. God bless you Sir. Best wishes to our metal master.

When you click that it's trying to open Microsoft Outbox. Just copy the email getwelltony@black-sabbath.com and paste it to where you usually type where you send it to. Email address works.
Let me tell you now, about a friend of mine. He tried to shoot them lights, with whiskey and the wine. He didn't get so far, ah his gun was wrong. Now my sweet friend, where's your song? Shoot out the lights, shoot out the lights.

Yeah, i was thinking it was something like that, but i don't think i'm going to send anything anyway.
If i were Tony right now, i don't think i'd care about reading through 100 mails all saying the same thing anyway.

I would imagine they'll do the same thing as they did with the 2010 tour and wait for the very last minute before announcing the cancelation. Although in that case Ronnie's turn for the worse happened really fast.

But as said before some tour should not be the first thing in mind right now, but Tony's health. That HAS TO come first. Tours come and go.
