    Hey Joe..
I read you used to work at Apogee. Did you have anything to do with Death Rally? Love that game.

Yes, I did. I worked on the original in 1996. The recent iOS remake I didn't have anything to do with, but the original, yeah. Most definitely.

I'm friends with those guys going way back from the time they made their original pitch to Apogee back in 1994, I believe.

I've always thought Liz Arden must be Sharons little sister, not only because of the name. There's just something about her... Still play the game from time to time.

Remedy released an Windows based freeware version of the original a few years back. Didn't have the multiplayer, but it was nice to see it popup again. You can get that here: http://www.remedygames.com/games/deathrally

Apogee/3DR still sells the original. The last thing I did as an employee there was bundle the games in a DOSBox wrapper, so they'd play in Windows. If you bought that NOW, you'd get that work I did on May 22, 2009.

I've tried a freeware-version some time ago, but it was no fun. Could'nt get past Sentinel. But i did manage to take down the Adversaty with a Vagabond on it (on easy-mode ofcourse) back when i played it all the time.
Best memories, and how i was introdused to the game, was when i went to "folkehøgskole" - "Folk High School" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folkeh%C3%B8gskole, one of the few kinds of schools in Norway where you actually live at the school, like a boarding school. One of the geeks had connected four of the computers on the computer-room together, so we could play network. One of our rules on Death Rally was that noone was allowed to cross the finish-line, we all had to fight to the death!!! We were about 6-7 regulars, and some casuals. Fun times.
