Me too. Rapture came out in 2006. It's about time we get another one! :D
That's right folks!
Here's what Ian Gillan had to say:
Ian seems to be really sorry that they won't be touring this summer but instead writing an album...talk about loving touring! They've been on the road pretty much non stop since 2006! Deep Purple must be one of the heaviest touring bands in the world! And considering their age that is quite a thing...Originally Posted by Ian Gillan

The dog's name is Pete. If he tries to mount you in the middle of the night, say "no" sternly. But don't look him in the eye.

this is good news - I do like the Steve Morse era Deep Purple &h was hoping tey would record one more LP - I hope they come back to Dallas to play again soon - loved it the last time I saw then at the House of Blues - that was a killer show
At least my hair is all mine, My teeth are my own, but everything else is on a permanent loan I'm on a low budget - Ray Davies
This is great news! I was hoping they would agree to do a new album!

Well to be honest I've just really gotten into Purple deeply, but I have pretty much only heard the original years and then Perfect Strangers. I haven't delved any further simply because there is so much great music they released from 68-75. I haven't payed attention to their new members, though I'm sure Don Airey does a fine job now. I need to listen to more recent stuff. Regardless this is exciting news as always is the case with new albums. Though a certain part of me wonders if we will ever see another Hughes and Coverdale show since their both up to doing it. (Or better yet just let Glenn takes all the vocals since Coverdale can't really sing worth shit anymore)
