....and no new news? Surely there are people within the circles of the 4 bend member who could give us some insight, even just a little news...
Is Tony still being treated?
If so, how's it going?
Are they still recording?
How far along?
Is Bill still out?
Why isn't anyone asking Vinnie to take his place?
I figured we would hear something, even unofficially, by now about something.

"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." (Matthew 25:41)
That wasn't on the news page when I logged in today. Maybe I needed to refresh or something.
BTW - thanks for nothing.![]()

Message From Tony
Hiya,
A little update on how it's all going:
Well, I've had the last dose of chemotherapy so hopefully my body will start to get back to normal soon, the steroids were the worse. I've now got three weeks of radiotherapy coming up which I'm told can be very tiring so we'll see.
A big thanks to Ozzy and Geezer for coming over to England, it was a big incentive for me, we managed to work most days and have some great new tracks.
And, importantly thanks again for your kind messages, hope to be seeing you soon.
- Tony

I find it a bit weird when people want an update on the Bill Ward situation. The story's closed, the band are carrying on without him, and Bill's sitting it out. The management teams for the two will no doubt still be in communication, but unless it is resolved, there's no news.
Its not like Bill or Sabbath are gonna issue an update saying "Bill is still out of the band, in case you are wondering". It would be somewhat redundant information. Likewise the replacement drummer situation...right now the band are writing/recording the new album. They have not made mention of searching for a drummer so presumably will audition some "name" drummers. I would anticipate this to happen sometime in April / early May, then they can take 3-4 weeks rehearsing for the tour. Likewise, "it won't be Vinny" is not really news. Outside of this forum, there is not going to be a huge number of people - relative to the number that intend to attend the Download Festival concert - that even consider Vinny anyone of note. Heaven & Hell, to the general public, was talked about as "Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio", remember.
Given the drummer will not be a new member of Black Sabbath (this is like when the Stones needed a new bassist after Bill Wyman quit in '93 - even if the drummer is a long-term player in the band, I doubt he will be a proper full member of the band), I don't see why people expect them to announce the news anytime soon. Unless they get Nicko McBrain or something, he isn't likely to be anyone who is gonna sell any more tickets for the gig...it will probably be someone with a "name", but still someone much less famous than Sabbath, someone they can rely on to just play drums and let the band do what they want, rather than someone participating in shaping their sound at a deeper level. That is a role reserved for members of Black Sabbath.
