This is pretty cool- I wonder what Dio song they will choose? Also featuring Anthrax, Rob Halford, Lemmy and others - what a lineup!
Definitely will have to check this out when it is released along with the Deep Purple disk too.

In our exclusive Metallica feature in the new issue, we found out that the Biggest Metal Band On The Planet are looking to be involved in the upcoming Dio tribute – also featuring Anthrax, Rob Halford, Lemmy and more.
“We reached out to Wendy Dio [wife of Ronnie] about wanting to be a part of the Dio tribute that’s getting put together,” says singer James Hetfield. “We’re very honoured to be a part of that, and to be a part of a celebration of Ronnie’s life and his great contribution, man.”
“We’re definitely looking to do the record Wendy’s putting together for Ronnie,” adds Lars. “We were asked if we’d contribute to the anniversary of [classic Deep Purple album] ‘Machine Head’, too – we can’t turn that down. We’re circling the Dio and Purple catalogues and hopefully we’ll come up with something that is worthy of these wonderful men.”

well what about Metallica doing Rainbow Eyes? Fast paced with double bass drums![]()
My youtube channel (Dio oldies)
My Sporting Lisbon shirt collection - my Dio vinyl bootleg collection is too large for a website :)
I will almost definitely buy the Dio album. At least the band is improving after Lulu.
Well I don’t want no preacher telling me about the god in the sky
No I don’t want no one to tell me where I’m gonna go when I die
I wanna live my life, I don’t want people telling me what to do
I just believe in myself, ’cause no one else is true
I believe I have read of Dickinson loving Dio as well, though I should have known you meant Deep Purple since I am positive that Bruce loves them.
Just me jumping the gun in favor of Dio - as I am really looking forward to Metallica/Anthrax/Halford/Lemmy doing the Dio disc. And would love to hear Bruce do justice to a Dio epic as well!
