Nice. Love that gig. Way better than the Reunion shows. Way more power.
I just wish there was video of the Academy, Birmingham in 2001 which was probably the best gig I ever went to.

Damn, that is a fucking heavy concert. Whenever someone asks me the heaviest band of all time, I answer Black Sabbath. Other bands may tune lower, use more distortion, whatever, but the original Black Sabbath is the definition of heavy rock music.

Ozzy is just full of energy. I hope he'll have that much if I ever get to see Sabbath.

really i know when i seen them back in 1976 that was pure energy from ozzy,he was wild ,reacted to every note.
to me every reunion show 1997-2005 is controled madness. just is'nt same as the seventies-although great--just different vibe.

When you compare Ozzy's stage presence in the 70's/early 80's to his later career, it is clear that he sort of embraced his madman image. When all that wild behaviour originally was all about Ozzy reacting to music he loved to perform, I'd assume he suddenly felt that the ticket buyers expected him to act like a lunatic on stage. Thus all crazy antics, dances, throwing water into the crowd, shouting "let's go fucking crazy" etc. He sort of fell victim to his own image, and in a way became a parody of himself. Atleast in the early 00's, that is.

Looks like Ozzy is wearing an Addicts t-shirt! I didn't know he was into Punk Rock!
I immagine him screeming "Punk Rock you bastards!" instead of "go fucking crazy" for once
    AHAHA

Sorry for the name drop here but, when i was living at Ozzy's house in '92, I had a tshirt with a picture of Sid Vicious drinking out of a bottle of Vodka on it (I think it was Vodka anyway). Anyway, I remember Ozzy looking down at it and (laughingly) commenting that he'd probably "drank a few thousand bottles of that stuff". Heh

Nice one, I shall be watching that when I get the chance.

The Astoria was a great venue which has since been knocked down.
