So, is this the MTV concert that has been floating around bootleg land for years now? Or is this an entirely different show?
10 years ago I bought a Portuguese, or Brazilian DVD version of this legendary concert. It was most likely mastered from the Japanese Laserdisc edition that was out in the late 80's. I was happy to have an upgrade from my VHS copy but was a little disappointed by the poor quality of the DVD features itself. Well it's finally being released officially in the U.S.
Ozzy's vocals were all re-recorded in the studio for this so he's in exceptional voice on this particular concert. The details indicate it's been given a full audio remix as well which I'm even more excited about.
No it's not a Randy Rhoads concert. Yes it's a Brad Gillis concert. But its the best representation of Ozzy's best (And my favorite) stage set, and gives a great example of how powerful the Sarzo, Alderidge, Airey backing band were.
I'm only slightly let down by no mention of any bonus content, but one can always hope. Release date is July 17.
Here's the official press release:

"From the book, the word is spoken. Whispers from forgotten psalms. Gather all around the young ones. They will make us strong. Reach above your dreams of pleasure
Given life to those who died. Look beyond your own horizons. Sail the ship of signs."

Well the Speak of the Devil live album was all Sabbath songs, and recorded in late September of 1982 and released on 10-31-1982. This is the MTV concert I saw back then.
