Well I'm part of the Priest and Manowar crowd (well, I like 80's Manowar) as well as Sabbath and Dio, so its fine with me.

Rock and metal fans had it first, and pop loving morons will move on when they think rock is passe again, so fark em.

Oh, how can i ever satisfy you...

I liked it to a certain point, but then it became too stupid and childish (on both sides, but mostly at Ron Paul's ) and i started hating it. I also hated it on behalf of all the others who had to read all the bullshit.

Is Roxy even popular in other countries? Most people don't even know who the fuck they are in this part of the world. I love all kinds of rock and roll, that whole early 70's glam period has always been interesting to me, Bowie,T.Rex, Roxy, Iggy, Alice. I'd be interested to see what your interests outside of Sabbath are before I could be 100% positive if you were a boring one trick pony kinda guy or not. I can't wait to see the offended crybaby flameout I get for lumping Alice in with those other acts...........

No way I am a one trick pony!!!!! I listen to many different styles of music from Classical to Death Metal to Blues/Jazz to Prog Rock. Sorry if I came off as kinda hostile but you DID say you were more metal ...Than Mois (not that I am some dullard)
Roxy IMHO sucks a big one and do not deserve to be acknowledged as much as they are already.....

Speaking of one trick pony's I must say it's pretty funny that this Billy Undereach guy is comparing me to the Ron Paul guy who actually has more in common with Billy than any other forum member I have seen. I just calls them likes I sees them. Have a Nice day.

Just like to add, Gene Simmons did not make the devil horns, at least not deliberately. He basically did the 'I Love You' sign-language symbol.

Occasionally I think he was doing his regular sign and needed to hold his pick so closed his thumb, but basically no.
He's claimed many things, but I don't think he has, or legitimately could claim to have invented the devil horns. Not that it matters and if Dio didn't care, why should anyone else.
There is something important to be said

Sorry. I wont be nice and quote what you said in your thread but it was something about me and your Muse, Ron Paul, going to see a shrink together. I found that ironic considering that you seem to have more in common with him than anyone else on this board.

Are you trying to say that just because I like things other than the Ozzy era of Sabbath my taste in music is lame?I find your posts amusing and you seem like an ok kid but you need to broaden your horizons a little. Maybe you should try listening to this song called "Smoke on the Water" by this other band called "Deep Purple". I know there's not a lot of room for different musical styles in that narrow mind of yours but there is also this other band called Led Zeppelin that is kinda neat for young novices like you. I'm fukkin sick of them myself but I hear young kids who don't know much about music really , really, dig this song called "Stairway To Heaven". I have more suggestions if you need them, I'm only hear to help.

Thanx man, but i've probably heard most of your suggestions already. Just because i find Roxy Music boring doesn't mean i've got a narrow mind, does it?. I'm sure there's bands you find boring too. Actually, Led Zep, wasn't it?
No, as for Glam-Rock, i'm more into Bowie and T. Rex, though i prefer Pre-Glam Bowie and Tyrannosaurus Rex. Bowie's Man Who Sold The World is one of my favorites.
And, like you, i consider Iggy and Alice as, if not pure Glam, atleast partly Glam too. (And Punk and lots of other stuff...)

    Thank you very much
The Man Who Sold The World is a great Bowie album, not his best but if any Bowie album could even remotely sound like Led Zeppelin it would be that one. I like all Bowie's stuff except for that mid 80's garbage. His 1990's and early 2000's stuff was great too.

Have you gotten "Toy"? It was the early sessions of what became Heathen I guess and he rerecorded a lot of his early obscure stuff on it, Like "Let Me Sleep Beside You" and "In The Heat of The Morning" for instance. It's an interesting download. I'm still sad that he retired and that bootleg is the only thing "new" that's been available for the last 9 years or so. I prefer Hours to Heathen btw.......Diamond Dogs would probably have to be my fave if I had to choose..

I've heard some of it, but not the new "Let Me Sleep Beside You", which is a favorite from the early days. I had the compilation album "London Boy" which contains some of the album and the singles from the Deram-days. For a while i was trying to convince people that this was some of the best stuff he ever did. Still feel a bit that way. We actually did Let Me Sleep in a band i used to play in.

Heroes... is also a great album, i'd have to say it's my third or fourth favorite (London Boy is somewhere around there too). Heroes and Man Who... was my introduction to Bowie, at a time alot of things changed in a positive way in my life, so those albums will forever have a special place for me.
It's really fantastic how that guy re-invented himself during the 90's after that catastrophic shit he did in the 80's, to become just as good as he was in his prime in the 70's. Not many people has been able to do that in rock history.

I was suposed to see him at Roskilde on his Reality-tour, but a few days before the show he got that blocked artery-thing, so he cancelled. And then he retired a short while after. So there went that opportunity to ever see him live But ofcourse i understand he's an old man, and have lived a hard life, so it's just something we'll have to accept...
And who did Roskilde bring in as replacement? Fucking Slipknot. That was a bummer...

Just checked it out. I won't say it was bad, actually it was great, but since i love the original so much i was a bit disappointed.

Oh..of course the originals are better, it's an interesting listen regardless. I was very lucky to get to see him on the Heathen tour with my girlfriend in 2002. Sadly she passed away but that night was one of my best memories with her. She bought me a diamond dogs t-shirt that I still wear sometimes to this day. It was a great show, he opened with Life On Mars and played 'Heroes" , which totally blew me away, One of my favorite songs of all time .Like you I have a strong connection with his music bringing me back to certain times of my life. I wish he would do just one more album and tour....but....he does what he wants to do, always has, I guess he wanted to make a shitload of cash with those terrible mid 80's albums, mission accomplished. I actually really like Let's Dance.

Let's Dance (the song) is actually pretty cool, but the rest of the album, and the next two, i really can't stand. Which is kinda a shame, since Stevie Ray Vaughan are doing the guitars (on Let's Dance).

Though he's retired, i won't be surprised if he gets bored in a couple of years and puts out a new album, though he probably won't tour. We'll just have to wait and see...
