Alright so there's no (decent or any) footage of Snowblind, Electric Funeral, Behind The Wall Of Sleep, Tomorrow's Dream, Sweet Leaf, and Dirty Women...so far.

And I was just thinking, why the hell have they never done Planet Caravan live? That would be perfect for Ozzy nowadays, slow and pretty easy for him to do. That would be amazing I think.

And what is it with this guy raising his left arm every other second? Does he have some physical condition, or is he just trying to get attention?

His Black Sabbath sounds very awkward, he needs to go back to band camp.

Haha agreed with everything you said. No shit about him raising his arm every other second. Band camp, haha.

Urgh, when Bill was still involved in this whole thing, I was stoked for the new album and was going to buy it first day it came out without even listening to a second of it prior. Now that apparently this Tommy Clitoris character is going to be on the album, I'm already disappointed and just shrugging my shoulders about it.

Here's a overview video with clear video and pretty clean audio that covers parts of The Wizard, Behind The Wall Of Sleep, Fairies Wear Boots, Tomorrow's Dream (4:28 to 5:34), and SBS intro/Paranoid.

I must say, Ozzy sounds absolutely great on Tomorrow's Dream.

Well we're not totally sure he'll be on the album yet, hopefully they will get things worked out with Bill before then. Watching these videos, I don't much care for his takes on the songs either, very bland like most of you have stated. He maybe a competent drummer but he sure doesn't bring any feel to it at all.

God i hate those double bassdrum-kicks Tommy puts in into Fairies...

Noone ever plays double bassdrums like Bill and Keith Moon did...

Not very close, but the audio is pretty damn clear. I'm pretty surprised at how good Ozzy actually sounds in most of this videos. Besides his performance on 'Wheels', which is understandable, he sounds damn good. I hear actual singing instead of just his usual way of spouting out the lyrics.

Edit: Eww...just watched a clip of the 'Symptom' jam, and wow Tommy's drumming makes me cringe. 'Symptom' is my favorite Ozzy-era Sabbath track, so I know what the drums should be dammit on that track, haha. Bill set the bar so high with his drumming on that one, it's underrated really. Nobody ever mentions just how insane Symptom is for being released in 1975! I don't care what anyone says, that had to be the heaviest song released in history up to that point in time. Personally, I call it more than just a prototype for thrash-metal, I call that the first thrash song period.
Wow, that is awesome. Ozzys Voice is great, and then Tony and his outro^^
But Geezer and Tommy are extremely good!!

And yeah, in my opinion, you are right. Symptom of the Universe is the first Thrash-Metal Song, because in almost "every" Slayer Song you can hear to some extend the Intro from Tony^^ (is just example)

Seeing and hearing the performance of the primary song "Black Sabbath" makes me really, really happy. The band nailed it, they recreated the atmosphere, they unleashed the song with the power that the song needs.

Considering Ozzy's past lifestyle, his age of 63+ years and his singing style (which was and is totally unconventional compared with his contemporary vocalist heroes), Ozzy did a GREAT JOB there in Birmingham last night. His voice is spooky and frighteningly POWERFUL, the voice comes right you. Where did he get this newly energized voice from? At least his current clean lifestyle contributes highly to his present performance ability. I noticed Ozzy's great voice already back in 2010 and 2011 when I saw him perform with his own band. I'm backing up my statement with the comments of my friends who have seen Ozzy many times between 1998 and 2010, they stated that Ozzy was so much better in 2010 and 2011 than he was for example in 2005. Ozzy is like a new man all over again. Surely Ozzy is made of cast iron, just like Dio and Lemmy.

Seeing and hearing Tony looking so good and sounding so great is warming my heart. He's still there with his guitar, sending forth those ultimate riffs of metal power. It's priceless. God bless him and help him back to full health.

I definitely hope to see a proper DVD release of this show, I want it. Tell it to everyone that Sabbathman wants a DVD from Sabbath's show in Birmingham on 19th of May 2012. Make it happen.

Lots of drummers do that, ranging from Tommy Aldridge to Scott Travis. Heck, I even do it from time to time. It's not that, that's the annoying thing, it's his playing, overly stale. And he's not trying to do Bill's drum parts any justice. I could think of plenty of other drummers they should have asked instead of this guy. I can live with this for a bit if it's just for the 3 shows or whatever maybe, but I couldn't think that they would actually put this guy on the album.

Clufetos is a rock solid player, but he doesn't have any sense of swing, which is what set the likes of Bill or Brian Downey apart from modern hard rock/metal drummers.

I liked Clufetos with Ted Nugent though I must say.

    My opinions:

Ozzy sounds great. Probably the best I've heard him in a long, long time. The emotion, tone, clarity, everything was just great. Only exception was 'Wheels of Confusion' and 'Black Sabbath' wasn't as good as I would have liked, but other than that he was perfect.

Tommy Clufetos isn't bad at all. He's no Bill Ward, but I didn't expect him to be. He's a bit stiff, but he plays with power and enthusiasm, and provides a strong backbeat. Plus, he isn't used to playing most of these songs. He might play more fluidly in the future.

Tony looks rather stiff in posture, and his hair looks very limp, but his playing is just as perfect and heavy as ever.

Overall, it was an absolutely great show. I'm very excited for what the future will bring.

Yeah, this is true. His style shifted more towards a power drumming type and less Jazzy. But the feel is still there.

I really liked Tommy when he was with Nugent, too. He was only 20 or 21 then and I remember being impressed by this young kid providing solid back beats to the veterans like Ted and Marco with full confidense and youthful energy. I'm not surprised that he has got bigger gig going on with him now. He has got no Bill Ward swing and feel for sure. But Bill himself lost most of that stuff in his playing long, long time ago.

I heard Ozzy has spent the last few years working with a vocal coach because for years his style of singing was very hard on his voice and he never learned to do it the "right" way.

Yeah I was hoping someone that knew a little more about drumming than I do could tell me. It doesn't seem to transfer into a stronger downward motion that I can see. I always assumed it was just showing off, like "Look what I have time to do."

Haven't had a chance to watch much of the concert footage but from what I can tell reminds me of the last reunion so far. maybe a little better in parts, I am really glad they did wheels of confusion

Judging by the footage it looks like Tony is feeling better from the cancer treatment, at least that's a good sign for good things to come.
Let me tell you now, about a friend of mine. He tried to shoot them lights, with whiskey and the wine. He didn't get so far, ah his gun was wrong. Now my sweet friend, where's your song? Shoot out the lights, shoot out the lights.

I interpret it as hitting harder to get a bigger sound, which, in the first place is very strange to have every other sound harder while the other being softer, like toc TOC toc TOC (if you know what i mean).

On the other side he's probably cheating by using triggers, like most drummers do nowadays. Triggers are little electronic gadgets you put on your drums to make the sound equal no matter if you hit it hard or soft.

Either way, it's a stupid thing to do, and it looks stupid too... And not very effective in terms of saving energy.

Oh how I wish I'd been there, jesus, I'm jealous. Whole band sound amazing, even Ozzy sounds pretty good, a bit flat in places, but so what, he sounds better than I thought he would, a flat Ozzy is better than no Ozzy. I'm off to Download and can't wait, just hope they don't drop any songs, if they do I hope they replace it with another rare live track.

Listening to the full audio clip at the moment, it sounds great! Even if Ozzy is out of tune and does a few major mistakes his voice is perhaps even stronger than it was when I saw him in 2010, and I was happily surprised that time!

Just listened to the entire show. Hot damn! Clufetos isn't perfect, but I somehow doubt Bill would be either. Ozzy sounds better than he has in a looong time, hell, I prefer his singing here to that on Live at Last. Wheels was rough for him, yes, but besides that, he sounded quite good. And of course there's Tony, kicking cancer in the nuts, and Geezer sounds as solid as ever. Hell of a show.

Hmmmmm, it makes me wonder if Ozzy was having trouble with his monitors or something during this tune. Missing marks and singing entirely out of key like this, in my experience playing gigs & running sound for other bands, usually has to do with the vocalist not being able to hear himself and/or the band clearly enough.

    Musically, it kills though!

    Musically, it kills though!
I think you hit the nail on the head there. It doesn't help that the riff is just a one chord drone, not much to refer to. I don't know how many times I was singing along with a song in the car with the volume low, then turned it up to find I was in the wrong key the whole time, I don't know what you would call that effect. But yeah, I hope they don't decide to drop the song from the set based on just one poor singing performance.

I guess I can no longer claim Dayton was the last place LOL.

But yeah I hope they keep wheels of confusion and don't toss it out like they did with Killing Yourself to live after the Arizona show.
How was I to know it was "kiss the world with winter flowers"?

let's hope so and by the way, they could try Killing yourself to live too... and they should play the coda of wheels of confusion, they cut that and the under the sun ending too, which I love.
