I had hoped there would be a new track or two, but apparently those aren't quite ready. But yeah, looks like a pretty good setlist.
According to the first posted video , it was a fantastic show , and , the most important , Tony appeared healthy . So Good .
...too bad for Bill, he discussed with his lawyers probably during the show , with a very bad feeling . So Sad .
Paranoid:
We've heard the song a million times before, but the band sounds exceptional. Hopefully someone uploads one of the more "obscure" songs soon.
^ Sounds like Ozzy forgets the words in the "I can't see the things that make true happiness, I must be blind"-line.
Must've been because it's so long since he've sung it...
Tony looks real good though. That's nice to see.

Even if I listened to Paranoid thousand of times, I really love this song and I can still listen to Paranoid several times xD
So the setlist...
I love the setlist, too. Into the Void or Wheels of Confusion are ingenious. Although I would rather listen to Songs like "Killing yourself to live" and "Hole in the Sky".
But if I'm truthful about it, this setlist is better than I ever thought.
And yeah, I'm really happy about it, that Tony looks really well and that he already has his hair^^
This is the best news from this Show, I think.
This clip has a bit of Wheels. Ozzy is singing in the wrong key, sounds a bit bad as a result, plus the recording quality sucks. Would have been cool to hear them do it in any case, but yeah, Ozzy is about a whole step down.
"Here's a song - I don't think we've played this very... Ever." To be fair, it's hard to hear Ozzy (or any of the band really - it's just a fuzzy noise). From what I can hear, he doesn't sound that bad.

It's such a shame Bill isn't there...but Black Sabbath played a tight & powerful performance, Tony looks OK by all means (Thank God) and Ozzy seems to have a fucking great booming voice! It's unbelievable how good Ozzy has been since the release of his latest album, I've seen him live with his own band twice already and both times Ozzy had a big kick in his stamina ja voice. I guess it's all because of his newly adopted alcohol-free lifestyle. Great for Ozzy, great for Black Sabbath, great for us fans!
Thanks for the videos! I wish I could see Black Sabbath in such a cool, smaller place like O2 Academy, I bet the vibe at the show was tremendous!
"HALLOWEEN RIFFS, WALL-TO-WALL GUITARS"
Don't think Tommy Clufetos grooves enough though... (in any of the clips posted in different threads here).
Lame drum-rolls. But it could be that he's asked to play that simple, which really, REALLY sucks.

Seeing that mighty setlist, the reports, the videos, the performances, Ozzy's energetic presence and voice, I'm starting to get good final vibes before the show on Wednesday even though it's Ozzy & Friends.
What I want is DVD from the O2 Academy show. I think all three Black Sabbath shows should be filmed and released together, I would buy the ultimate special limited steel box 3DVD & 6CD edition in a heart beat!!!

From what I've seen and heard from last nights concerts everything seems to have gone better than expected, please please whatever you do guys, keep Wheels of Confusion in the set for Download. All round concert seems great, with everything thats gone on in recent months thought they might have played Never Say Die, but never mind, can't wait for Download, more excited than ever now.

You might be in luck with regard to the DVD, there were at least two video cameras filming the concert one on or around the stage, the other front centre. Fingers crossed as it was absolutely awesome, the band, venue sound, setlist performance, crowd, the lot. Feel so lucky to have been there. The band really looked like they enjoyed last night, and it was definitely Tony's night - crowd and band knew that.
Setlist is correct except don't remember Lord of this World being played. Chuffed to bits to hear Under The Sun, Wheels of Confusion and The Wizard live.
Wow! Band seems to be in top shape. Good to see Tony on stage, hopefully he recovers totally (if not already recovered)! And Ozzy kind of nailed it, voice and performance were really good (must admit that I had my doubts). I just had one wish...
Ah that's cool. It's important to film the band after such a terrible "reunion"-story. And yeah I hope that we can get more than one show of this year on a DVD^^
Download Festival is one of the best places to make a wonderful Live DVD with, I hope and think, a wonderful audience.
setlist was right saw it few minutes before the gig and was amazed. sad they dropped lord of this world though but ill take it
my friend got an aaa pass think he took this photo
Am I the only one who thinks that Tommy did a decent job in drumming?
The world is a lonely place - you're on your own.
Guess I will go home - sit down and moan.
Crying and thinking is all that I do.
Memories I have remind me of you,
Of you, of you...
Great setlist, and an impressive achievement all-around by the band, especially Tony!

let' s be honest, this is a far better setlist any of us could expect, now I hope at least one of the gems like wheels of confusion will be played at the ozzy and friends gigs. Maybe in the future they' ll try some other deep cuts, I personally hope for something from SBS, I think ozzy could sing who are you, at least.
I thought he did a great job. I was hoping that people wouldnt boo the man. That would have been low class. There are some people that want the guys to play the songs exactly the way they were on the records. Not even tony played the songs exactly that close. Tommy played all the key drum parts pretty good. No arguement from me. I do understand that certain drum parts have to be played properly. War Pigs,Wizard,WOC,ect.

Ofcourse none of them are playing the way they did 40 years ago. But with Sabbath, the groove in the rythm-section is a very important part of the bands sound. Sadly everybody thinks of Sabbath as Tony's riffs and Ozzy's crazy vocals, but they would never'd been what they were without the groove of Geezer and Bill. Tommy doesn't have that groove, very few modern metal-drummers do. (Actually, i can't think of any modern metal-drummers that do).
And The Wizard, where the drums are such an integral part of the song, he really screwed up...

Bill drums in particular brings a lot of groove , character , texture and versatility to Iommi & Geezer's 'doom and gloom sound' ! his Jazz and blues background bought that 'swing' feel and touch to such Sabbath classics , basically its the only thing left to give this show a PERFECT 10 rating ! today , Iommi and Geezer lock in tightly sound wish creating the basic foundation of the sound , that's why this show sounds really fantastic ! Iommi & Geezer are crushing while Ozzy is really in good shape and Tommy is just fine , unfortunately he lacks some necessarily groove and character in his playing , a bit too predictable and boring at times as well , Bill's drums has more a interaction with the music , more vocabulary , very well orchestrated ! that was case with most unorthodox drummers in the 70's , Bonham , Bill , Moon and Paice to name a few !
But anyway , I think they can still manage to get someone more fitting , I thought 'Kenny Aronoff' was terrific on 'Fused' and bought a lot of dynamics and versatility to Tony's music , check out the epic 'I go Insane' , Kenny is a power house and still he can deal with a lot of groove and changes in the music , he was praised a lot of Tony;s book ! and while many dislike Appice , he is quite a distinctive drummer and his heavy pounding locks very well with Tony and Geezer ! he got that Sabbath touch to his playing , of course not versatile or dynamic like Bill or Kenny , but still he brings a lot of power and quite jells well with the music.
Lets just keep our fingers crossed Bill will be back or at least record the album one way or the other !![]()
Am I hearing Keys in N.I.B.? Also am I hearing Geezer actually utilize his Wah pedal throughout the ENTIRE song?
