    Default Tony is plugged in.

Mmm, Something I never thought I'd see again. Iommi plugged in directly, old fashion. It's on the COTG video on the news page. I noticed it the most there. No wireless! Thought that was pretty cool.

Well 'Mike Exeter' (Iommi's sound engineer) stated that Tony's new setup and rig sounded WAY better plugged rather than going wireless , so until they find a 'wireless' solution that sounds as good , expect Iommi to be plugged in for the next shows and tours !

Zakk Wylde ditched wireless long time ago and never had a problem playing with Ozzy. There must be a way to get around this I assume.

I don't see what one has to do with the other.

Standing in water with an electric guitar connected directly to an amp isn't really a very good idea, you see?

Standing with excess wire next to a partially plugged in plug is not so good either.

When I was first starting out, I didn't have wire cutters, so I had to just go with the excess hanging off.

Well, anyway, one day I was goofing around with my guitar, and didn't have it fully plugged into the wall, I bent over to plug it in, and BAM, suddenly the strings light up like a mother fucker, singe my fingers (the smell of burning flesh was horrible.) and then they broke. Turns out the excess had touched the exposed part of the plug, and was a good electrical conductor.

There are scars of my fingers from where it happened.

That said, the shock itself did not hurt, even thought it was fairly bad (It messed up my heart.) it was the burning that hurt.

    Indeed.
Having a guitar/amp and/or a mike with bad grounding and accidentally touching the mike with you lips aren't always to pleasant either. Not that damaging to your healt, but it stings bad in your lips...

Well, that must've been shocking to witness!

The chances of anything happening are ridiculously low in that situation. Its not like he's taking a bath, lol. He's got a better chance of slipping and falling off stage than receiving a serious jolt in that situation. Bad grounding can get you electrocuted, but my guess is that Black Sabbath isn't going to have that problem.

The possibility is there, that's all i'm saying. You ever seen A Year And A Half In The Life Of Metallica? Kirk Hammet gets shocked in the studio because his foot is touching some water someone spilled. And you'd think that they had good enough grounded equipment too...

Over the weekend in Milton, Ontario in Canada, Hot Hot Heat's performance at Chill On The Hill was cut short by an unfortunate incident. Near the end of the set, guitarist Luke Paquin was electrocuted by his microphone and was tossed back during the band's performance of "Bandages". Luke Paquin was carried away and paramedics were called in to assist.
The shock to Luke Paquin is reported not to be as severe as it could have been according to reports and the guitarist is now recovering with minor nerve damage. Canadian band Hot Hot Heat are currently finishing up their fourth studio album and have just recently finished a co-headlining tour with Bloc Party in Canada. See below for footage of the incident courtesy of YouTube.

    Leslie "Les" Harvey: Age 27
    Stone The Crows
    (b. 1946, d. 3 May 1972).
Leslie Harvey younger brother of Alex first recorded work was on an Alex Harvey LP called " The blues" in 1964 when Leslie was 16 years old. He joined his brothers band and from then until the formation of Stone The Crows in 1966 . The quintet's early blues-based albums were notable for both Maggie Bell and Jimmy Dewar's expressive vocals and Leslie Harvey's textured, economic guitar work. However, an inability to match their live popularity with record sales led to disaffection and both John McGuinness and Dewar left on completing ODE TO JOHN LAW. On 3 May 1972, Leslie Harvey died after being electrocuted onstage at Swansea's Top Rank Ballroom. Although the group completed a fourth album with Jimmy McCulloch from Thunderclap Newman, they lacked the heart to continue and broke up the following year.

    Keith Relf: Age 32
    The Yardbirds
    Rennaissance
    1944, Richmond, Surrey, England, d. 14 May 1976; vocals/harmonica).
The legacy of the Yardbirds has refused to die, particularly in the wake of the fame enjoyed by its former guitarists. After leaving the Yardbirds, Relf and McCarty stayed with music, first forming a folk duo called Together and then founding Renaissance. The band scored its biggest hit, the top ten single Northern Lights, in 1978 after both former Yardbirds had left. Relf departed the group in 1972, and died in his bathtub on May 14, 1976, electrocuted by his own guitar. His last album with the heavy metal band. Armegeddon. (Yardbirds)
    Received: 5/3/0
Keith Relf did not die in the bathtub.
He had fitted out the basement of his house as a recording studio and this is where he was found on the floor by his son. His guitar was not properly earthed, and although the shock was fairly mild Keith had been ill and was not fit enough to withstand it. ~Tana friend of Jane & Keith

It needs to be cleared up - Keith died as a result electrocution when playing his guitar unearthed and standing over a hidden gas line by the fireplace - he DID NOT die in the bath. All sites should amend their details

    John Rostill: Age 31
    The Shadows
(John Henry Rostill, b. 16 June 1942, Kings Norton, Birmingham, England, d. 26 Nov 1973)
John joined the shadows in November 1963 as replacement for Brian Locking. Staying with them until the break up in December 1968, and being part of the ´re-formed Shadows` in 1969/70 makes him the longest serving bass playing member of the Shadows. Tragically, John didn't live to see the enormous success of his songs. On November 26th 1973, Bruce called at his house to work on some songs. When He and John's wife Margaret gained access to the studio, they found that John had been electrocuted.

    From wiki:

"On December 12, 1976, Kiss performed a concert at the Lakeland Civic Center in Lakeland, Florida. During the opening number, Frehley touched a metal staircase railing, which was ungrounded. Frehley was knocked to the ground, and the concert was delayed for 30 minutes. The show was eventually completed, and Frehley claimed to have lost feeling in his hand for the remainder of the concert." But he later wrote "Shock Me" secondary to this.

And here's Keith Richards getting zapped in Sacramento, CA, Dec. 1965:

Ozzy needs to cut it out w the water antics and just wear a diaper so he doesn't have to cover for himself. Or even better, go offstage and take a fucking piss if you have to, it's a lot better than having him yell ALRIGHTLETSGOFUCKINGCRAAYZAAY and IWANNASEEYOURHAAAAAAANDS and WELOVEYOUAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL over Tony's fucking solos. Leave, piss, come back. Easy. Beats getting electrocuted.

    All the best,

No reason to start with the Ozzy-hate just because someone are talking about the dangers of water & electricity...

Why don't they used distilled water? Same effect and electricity is no longer a problem.
Well I don’t want no preacher telling me about the god in the sky
No I don’t want no one to tell me where I’m gonna go when I die
I wanna live my life, I don’t want people telling me what to do
