Default RISING WEST - Queensrÿche & Todd La Torre

Queensrÿche themselves have been asked to play more classics from the early days, now a new band called RISING WEST will play them. This is a pretty surprising project, songs from the first 5 Queensrÿche albums and also a new album is coming up...

Todd La Torre surely is a force to be reckoned with, a high-caliber vocalist for whom everyone should take their hats off...

According to TicketWeb.com, the core members of QUEENSRŸCHE will debut their new band RISING WEST on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9 at the Hard Rock Café in Seattle, Washington.

RISING WEST features Michael Wilton, Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield and Parker Lundgren of QUEENSRŸCHE, with powerhouse vocalist Todd La Torre of CRIMSON GLORY. The band will perform rare and classic hits from the first five QUEENSRŸCHE albums and plans on hitting the studio sometime early summer to begin recording its first release.

Also available is Todd's full-length performance of the song "Queen Of The Reich"...

Rising West >>> now Queensrÿche !!

and I agree , the performance of La Torre on " Queen Of The Reich " is awesome .
I 've the feeling to hear Tate , when we discovered him with this incredible voice.
I wonder how long La Torre will retain its vocal abilities . In other hand , he can be judged to be a single clone .
Anyway , it ' good to hear these classics with all the original vocal power . Sad for Geoff .

Well according to this Billboard article Tate is out of Queensryche & Todd La Torre is in so I guess this means Rising west is now Queensryche

I really like the band, and have immensely enjoyed the shows Ive seen them play. But at this point in time, I think this might be a good thing for both Tate & the QR guys. Michael Wilton went on record somewhere saying even he didn't like the last QR album. Based on other things Ive read it seemed to be creatively driven by Tate. So this opens Geoff's opportunities, without having to deal with straining his relationship with the other guys any further. And the guys can get back to doing music that they like. I say it's a win for both.

I'd say your correct about this. I haven't listened to Queensryche in years and I was never a huge fan, but I found some of their early stuff enjoyable. It seems like the other guys want to reclaim their earlier sound, which is what their fanbase was really built on and Tate was just not interested. I read interviews with him where he said he wasn't into metal and had no desire to play the really early stuff, that he felt no connection to it. As an artist, I can't fault the guy for that, but I think it was too tough to try and twist Queensryche into what he wanted it to be when it's foundation lay on that stuff. From what I gather, even the most hardcore fans have had trouble with records that the band released over the past decade or so, and it sounds like even the rest of the band wasn't into it, either

IMO , no doubt :the most damaging for Queensrÿche is more the absence of De garmo than Tate .
