Hot on the heels of Black Sabbath at Download Festival, I have my ticket for the Tony Martin's Headless Cross show.
I'm also supposed to be interviewing Tony, but he's not the most organised fellow in the world. I need to message him (again) about it....
I do question having Blaze Bayley on support though. Sure, he's another local, and another legend, and another solo artist, so in some ways it fits. But Martin sang for Sabbath 1987-1991/1993-1996, and Blaze sang for Maiden 1994-1999. It feels a bit like a nostalgia cabaret show to have two guys best known as "replacements for other singers" playing together. I'm a fan of both, but it sells them both short. I'm half expecting them to announce Al Atkins and Ripper Owens to join them, now.
