Default Favorite songs from TE and NSD?

Although it seems rather pertinent that these albums are partially despised by the Sabbath clan, there must be even one song, one riff, one moment from each album that still contains a glimpse of the famed instinctual head bang.
Personally, I enjoy a majority of these two albums so this will be easy for me to decide. There can be mulitple songs extracted from each for those daring enough to exalt the albums.
    TE-
Gypsy: after the tempo change occurs it feels like vintage Sabbath to me w/ a slightly alternative Iommi approach. Great tune.
You Wont Change Me: although I do not particularly enjoy the introduction riff, the song that ensues after is magnificent.
Dirty Women: the song in its entirity is fantastic. The breif solo-riff after the second verse and once again after the first solo is phenomenal. With Geezers bass the riff truly creates euphoria. THE REUNION VERSION IS IMPECCABLE!
All Moving Parts: Like Dirty Women, I enjoy the live versions of this song much more. It feels much more raw.
It's Alright: probably my favorite song on the album- as my name implies I am enamored with descending scales, and this song has a magnificent structure.

    NSD:
Air Dance: undoubtedly my favorite song from the album- one of my favortie sabbath tunes of all, I think it's safe to categorize this as a sonata. Every element creates a masterful composition, the introduction riff, the slow spacey latin interlude with a soaring piano, ozzy's superb vocals- its quite the song.
Junior's Eyes: the riffs, the vocals, the bass- this song has a great chemistry.
Never Say Die: great song, very memorable and magnetic.
Over to You: Given a safe chance to play, this song allures me. Once again, all of the elements have great chemistry once given the chance to mold.
Shockwaves: I enjoy the live versions more than the studio, but regardless, more than a mediocre song.
A Hard Road: Following closely to Air Dance in favoritism, this song is superb. Obviously it may not song exactly like the metal prototype Sabbath, but thats what Sabbath is to me, a revolutionary band not afraid to evolve- hence the metal they created. The descending scales, the lyrics, (all of the lyrics on this album are great excluding Johnny Blade which does actually have a pretty great ending) and primarilly the ending harmonies with Ozzy's angelic melodies all creating once again the Sabbath chemistry.

Personally I enjoy the production on NSD more than that of TE, but on both albums I definately desire to hear the bass more amplified.

    Technical Ecstasy
You Won't Change Me - My personal favourite song on the album. The doomy riff is excellent, and I love the keyboard melody and how it works with Ozzy's vocals.

It's Alright - My other favourite. It doesn't sound much like 'classic' Sabbath, whereas the previous song was the most 'classic-souding' on the album, but it's an absolutely beautiful song. Bill's singing is superb, and the piano melody is very lovely.

    Never Say Die!
Junior's Eyes - My favourite on the album, and one of my favourite Sabbath songs period. I once read a negative review complaining about how the bass provided the melody instead of the guitar, but I love it, and I love the use of the guitar as well. The lyrics are some of Sabbath's best, and I love the contrast between the chorus and the rest of the song.

Air Dance - This song and 'Junior's Eyes' alone are worth getting the album, even though the rest of it is great. This song probably has the most energy out of them all, and it's incredibly catchy, but not poppy at all. It's very unique, like the album itself.

NSD is my my 3rd favourite Ozzy era album, and I prefer TE to MOR, (it's on about par with Vol 4).

    TE
    Back Street Kids
    You Won't Change Me
    All Moving Parts (Stand Still)
    ... Dirty Women is okay.

    NSD
    Junior's Eyes
    Air Dance
    Johnny Blade
    Swinging The Chain

You Won't Change Me, Juniors Eyes and Air Dance are in my top 10 Ozzy era songs.

Never Say Die is an impressive album. Air Dance and Junior's Eyes are the best tracks imo.

I don't much like Technical Ecstasy, but I really like Backstreet Kids. Great driving riff. You Won't Change me is probably the only other one I like to any great extent.

Never Say Die is another matter. I think it's the fourth best Ozzy-era album, after Black Sabbath, Paranoid, and Master of Reality. My favorite songs from it are:

Shock Wave: Just magnificent. I love all the different riffs, and I love when the acoustic and electric guitars play together. Great guitar solo, and I love the headbanging riff at the end, as well as the vocals.

Air Dance. Such a pretty song. One of Sabbath's best softer songs. But it's different than their other soft songs, as I don't think it features any acoustic guitar, but there is electric guitar, but used in a non-heavy way.

Johnny Blade. Love the keyboard intro, you can see where the intro to Mr. Crowley came from. Like Backstreet Kids, it has a great driving riff.

Gypsy is sometimes in my top 10 all time Sabbath songs list, it's a great great tune. At the moment I find the keyboards in TE much more interesting than earlier, though I still feel that the production wasn't linked to the songwriting. It feels a bit thin at times, though I love the dry sound of the drums especially in Gypsy. Same with NSD, a bit thin especially the keys. NSD has got a very strong title track and the wonderful Over to You with some of Geezers best lyrics ever imo.

Other songs that stand out from both albums:
    She's Gone
    It's Alright
    You Won't Change Me
    Air Dance
    Shock Wave
"There in the middle of the circle he stands, searching, seeking, with just one touch of his trembling hand, the answer will be found.
Daylight waits while the old man sings, heaven help me! And then like the rush of a thousand wings, it shines upon the one. And the day has just begun..."

-Ronnie James Dio, Rest in Peace

"In the summer days we flew to the sun, on melting wings, but the seasons changed to fast, leave us all behind... Blind..." (1969)
    - Jon Lord, Rest in Peace

Okay, too much NSD love here, another voice needs to be heard.

The title track off NSD is a great tune, the rest of side one is decent but not great, and side two sucks donkey balls.

TE doesn't have a single song that matches the song NSD, but none of TE is as overwhelmingly awful as side two of NSD. My favorite songs there are probably YWCM and It's Alright.

I've been thinking about the perfect merge of the two albums for some time, so here is my suggestilon to "Never Say Ecstasy/Technical Die!":

    Back Street Kids
    You Won't Change Me*
    It's Alright
    All Moving Parts (Stand Still)
    Rock 'n' Roll Doctor*
    Dirty Women
    Never Say Die*
    Junior's Eyes
    A Hard Road*
    Shock Wave
    Air Dance*
    Over To You
    Breakout
    Swinging The Chain

    * if it was to be a maximum 9-10 tracks album, these are the ones i would've pulled out...

Edit: Ofcourse, while listening trough this "album" now, i realize many of these songs could've (should've) been cut in half...

TE: Dirty Women, although I do like Back Street Kids as well. Rest of the album isn't up to par with these two, All Moving Parts has its moments too though.

NSD: Never Say Die. That Junior's Eyes and Johnny Blade are the only songs worth listening from this one the rest are somewhere between god awful and absolute garbage.

Listened through all of NSD in the car yesterday, I just can't beleive it's my least favorite Sabbath album. I mean srsly it's just AWESOME! Later I went through all the sabbath albums in my mind and judged the songs, turns out NSD is still my least favorite. Tony Iommi is just an unbelievable musician, I can't understand how someone can have an active career during 25 years and fail to record a single song I don't love. Even Dio couldn't pull that off.

I've always liked both of these albums. From TE I would have to say All Moving Parts (Stand Still), just musically and lyrically very intersting, different. It has a groove, punctuated by extremely heavy parts. Plus cool as hell lyrics, bizarre science fiction. I like them better than Rush lyrics. And from NSD I like Johnny Blade.

TE - YWCM, Gypsy, AMPSS, the epic DIRTY WOMEN, TE has a great warm thick production where TE sounds cold and tinny, never liked the sound of that album, even Iommi said he and the sound eng. tried ripping the rugs out to improve the sound of that cold Toronto studio to no evail. Jr's Eyes and Hard Road are the best and only real good tracks on TE IMO.

Neither of the albums rank among my favorites of the band, more so in the bottom of the list. But they have their moments for sure.

    Technical Ecstasy:

Dirty Women - Surely one of their best songs in my books. Great riffing, time changes, vocal melodies and especially soloing courtesy of Iommi
She's Gone - This song doesn't get much love here, but I personally like it a great deal.
It's Alright - Very Beatles-esque. Ward's singing is quite strong actually.

    Never Say Die!

Never Say Die - Catchy song, nothing spectacular but a fun song
Air Dance - The other good track on the album. Probably the only experimental track on this album that was succesful.
"The consequence of conscience/Is that you'll be left somewhere/Swinging in the air"-Ronnie James Dio (1942-2010) R.I.P. King Of Metal
"Just take a look around you what do you see/Pain, suffering, and misery/It's not the way that the world was planned/It's a pity you don't understand" - Geezer Butler

TE - Dirty Women - One of Tony's greatest riffs and solo.
It's Alright - I remember watching the promo video and thinking "what the fuck is this? This ain't Sabbath." I decided to listen to it all the way through and thought it was great.

NSD- When I first heard album it became my favorite Sabbath album for years. Mostly because Johnny Blade was my favorite guitar solo by any guitar player and still is one of my favorite guitar solos.

I was just debating these 2 albums on another music forum. I like both of these CDs, however they are closer to the bottom of my list of the 19 albums. But being near the bottom of the list does not mean I do not like them.

    Technical Ecstacy:
Back Street Kids is my favorite track off this record. Dirty Women, Rock and Roll Docter and It's Alright are also great tracks.

    Never Say Die:
The title track is my favorite here. Johnny Blade, Juniors Eyes and Breakout/Swinging the Chains are also outstanding.
"I can honestly say it’s truly been an honor to play at his side for all these years, his music will live on forever." ~ Tony Iommi (Speaking of Ronnie James Dio)
