    Default Doom Let Loose (book)

I've just finished reading Doom Let Loose by Martin Popoff, and the lasting impression is of continual tension and bickering within Sabbath after the Ozzy years. That's a shame, but the music hasn't suffered in my opinion (or maybe it could have been even better?).
The other thing I'm left with is how so many of the lyrics are just cobbled together to fit Iommi riffs. I can kind of see this with the Martin albums, but Dio's lyrics seem to be steeped in meaning to me.

    What do others think?

Good book. As a fan of music commentary and criticism I have to say that Popoff definitely knows a lot about the hard rock genre. Along with 'Classic Rock' writer Malcolm Dome these two are arguably the best hard rock journalists out there today. Sabbath fans should also consider Martin's latest Sabbath book, 'Black Sabbath FAQ' released in 2011. Informative, objective, and entertaining, despite his very UNORTHODOX style of writing. Try not to let that irritate you too much. Great thread, thanks BSO!

Could you elaborate on this? I'm going to purchase the book in a while, and I don't want the writing style to make me stop reading it.

I won't ask you again if a chill comes to your hand, some day I'm going back to a world I understand.
