Default DVD Speak of the Devil

Just got this and I must say I am impressed. One helluva concert. Brad Gillis does one hell of a job, right after Randy Rhodes death, filling in. I must say his solo was awesome in this DVD. Don't know of anyone that could have done any better. Anybody that wants to see an early Ozzy concert, I highly recommend this DVD.

Better than the bootleg that has been floating around for years?

I saw " Crazy Train " from this DVD .
Brad Gillis and Tommy Aldridge are very few highlighted instead of Ozzy and Rudy Sarzo. I wished to see much Brad for his work and his enormous talent
Ozzy sings really (too much) good !?!

Just got this today too, it is indeed good. Were Ozzy's vocals double-tracked like it is on this one in the bootleg? I never watched the boot much. Also, did he not cuss at all in the bootleg? I didn't hear any cussing and that seems weird for Oz.

Yeah Ozzy's vocals aren't live. That much is clear by just looking at some of the clips.

Nice film but like the CD much more. No perfect stacks sound to Gills guitar, all rather buried in vocals

Don't understand why they called this "Speak of the Devil" when there is a CD of Ozzy doing Sabbath already with that title. Dumb.

Because it was on the Speak of the Devil tour and this was titled a long time ago as it's been around on bootleg for forever.

Sabbath had just released "Live Evil" when Ozzy released his version of BS with SOTD... I wanted to throw up when I heard about the album, never listened to it, never will, anyone playing BS songs other than Tony Iommi is of no interest to me. In retrospect, I'm not as negative towards Ozzy and this release as I was originally, since Iommi took countless anonomous bands on tour parading as Black Sabbath, why bash Ozzy for doing an album of all Sabbath songs then... the vocals from my understanding were all studio recorded.. why would anyone waste their time on this stuff?

I enjoy the DVD but why they had to redo the vocals I'll never know, Ozzy still sounded great back then. If you've never listened to the album Wicked Cricket youre missing out a great record, put favouritism aside and just listen to the music. Brad Gillis is no Tony Iommi but he does a great job.
I saw Ozzy on his Talk of the Devil UK Tour in Dec '82 with Brad Gillis. Ozzy had recently shaved his head and looked a right twat, but the concert was one of my favourite gigs ever, even better than the Blizzard of Ozz gig 2 yrs earlier
