Interesting Indeed But What I'd Like To Know Is How Can A Vehicle The Size Of The Curiosity Rover Keep Running On A Harsh And Desolate Planet Like Mars

I'm surprised you managed to post this - surely you've already sold your PC/Mac and donated all proceeds to African aid?

I'm not against you starting a thread on the plight of Africa; however it does not belong in this topic, which is clearly about the Mars Curiosity Rover.

My aid will do nothing, however goverment moneyn beeing wasted on space research while milions of people are dying from lack of basic needs worries me. Lets go to space when we deal with the problems on earth ok?

Quoting Sabbath doesn't really prove much, after all we need the space research to get Into The Void, right?

Can we just concentrate on the Mars mission here? The problems in Africa are not down to NASA.

There was more money spent on the olympics than on the curiosity. There are many other places where money should be taken away from before legitimate scientific research.
Well I don’t want no preacher telling me about the god in the sky
No I don’t want no one to tell me where I’m gonna go when I die
I wanna live my life, I don’t want people telling me what to do
I just believe in myself, ’cause no one else is true

I am from the constantly poor europe... And yeah olympics are a big waste of money altough i guess they promote healthy living trough sports. I hope this trip to mars is practical and the discoveries there have an effect on every day living otherwise...

indeed, we 're all aware and terrified of this kind of serious problems .
We could also discuss about the money stolen from the people by the corrupted leaders of some African countries .. We could also talk about warlords or rebel with hands covered with blood and often with golden AK47 .
we could talk about the influences of Al Qaeda in the southern Sahara and Africa. These people' re also very well equipped .
The solutions are never far removed from these catastrophic events.

But NASA has no responsibility for it all. US can not settle all the problems of the world.

This is no more than a topical subject in an excellent forum that allows us to make breaks in our daily lives.
    that's all.

EDIT : Curiosity mission : In search of Water traces
