Default RJD's Childhood House For Sale (in eBay)

Here's a great acquisition for a great Dio fan

The owner of the New York house where Ronnie James Dio grew up has listed the property on eBay in the hope a true fan will buy it.

The home on Dio Way, renamed for the iconic singer in 1988, includes the garage where the he used to rehearse – and may also contain a trunk he buried in the back garden.

The current owner purchased it three years ago but explains it’s too small for his growing family.

He says: “This is the house he grew up in, wrote songs in, had parties in and played in. We bought it from Ronnie and have enjoyed living there.

“It has a detached garage where Dio used to play, a fenced-in back yard great for barbecues, and a garden behind the garage where Ronnie told me himself he’d buried a trunk that we never got round to digging up.

“I have found an old mic of his and what looks like some spelling test pushed into a knothole in the floor.

“We have had people visit the house, getting their picture taken out front, or by the street sign of Dio Way.

“If these walls could talk! I am listing it in the hope that a true Dio fan can get the house and enjoy owning a piece of heavy metal history.”

The starting price for 147 Central Avenue is $90,000 and the auction closes at the end of August. The owner says work needs to be done to the premises.

So, is anyone here interested about moving to NYC? It would be cool to have "Dio Way" as part of your address

DIo Way is actually in Cortland, NY, not NYC. Not quite as nice a place to live, actually, it pains me to say as a Cortland (well, the nearby town of Blodgett Mills, but I was born in Cortland Hostpital) native but the place is a dump. There are a couple of nice parts of town, but DIO Way is not one of them.
