More 2016 North American Dates

BLACK SABBATH
TRIUMPHANTLY RETURN TO NORTH AMERICA
DUE TO OVERWHELMING DEMAND,
“THE END” TOUR
EXTENDED INTO FALL 2016
WITH ADDITIONAL NORTH AMERICAN SHOWS

Due to overwhelming demand, the road to THE END just got longer.
On the heels of their much-anticipated performances in North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, BLACK SABBATH will end the epic journey they began nearly five decades ago with another run of North American dates in fall 2016. These shows will follow a mix of summer headlining and festival performances throughout Europe.

The second run of North American dates kicks off August 17 at Jones Beach Amphitheater in New York and includes stops at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles (where the band last performed a sold-out show on their wildly successful 13 world tour in 2014), Chicago, Philadelphia, Toronto, Detroit, and Dallas, among others, before wrapping September 21 at AK-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ.
The massive 2016 world tour by the greatest Metal Band of all time marks THE END for Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler as they close the final chapter in the final volume of the incredible BLACK SABBATH story with this tour. BLACK SABBATH’s THE END farewell tour promises to surpass all previous tours and will feature the band’s most mesmerizing production ever.

When this tour concludes, it will truly be THE END, THE END of one of most legendary bands in Rock ’n Roll history…BLACK SABBATH

Got my tix for January 22, 2016. Might be another road trip in September to Chicago unless, they add a St. Louis show.

  2. Still no date for ohio , This is BS! They didn’t do a show last time for there 13 tour. Well I’m glad I saw them at ozzfest 2004 with bill ward. If that’s all the dates there doing for the end tour then that’s a pretty sad way to end it on a bad note.

    • road trip…

    • Still no dates for UK other than download so 1 Date MMMmmm seems to me that the US is being taken well care of ,nothing to do with money of course :) Band will probably be too knackered when they finally get to play the UK, If they manage to do more than just a last couple of dates in Birmingham that is !!

Sheffield UK would be nice Please !!

    • Rangemaster says

Detroit on 2-19 is not that far – I’m in Ohio and got my tickets… On Friday too

  3. Matt Dennett says

Well it seems the only UK date is Download festival – this used to be the legendary Monsters of Rock Donington festival before it turned into a bloody awful three day pop punk over commercialised pile of total crap.
What a kick in the teeth for die hard UK followers here. I guess I will not be seeing the biggest musical influences of my life on this last tour.
After that its back to the USA! Again! No offence intended of course. At least they are following the big money trail to line their pockets one last time before riding off into the eternal sunset.
A small batch of UK theatre dates would have been a fitting way to end it all, like it began, but hey ho I it looks like thats a no no.
At least I saw them on the 13 tour and had an amazing time in thick of the crowd near the front with my brother, not even Tony Geezer or Ozzy can take that away…

    • Take that away?? They’re the ones that gave it to you in the first place! You’ll get your shows, don’t worry about it.

  4. I see only 1 UK date (in June 2016) above so I/we should expect more dates for The End Tour, culminating in a final show(s) in Birmingham featuring Tony, Ozzy, Geezer and (by fate or by fortune) Mr. Bill Ward.

    Ted

    • Exactly, finally someone figured it out. I’m OK if it’s without Bill, but I am getting a twinge of something. They haven’t announced the drummer yet. It may still be possible, but they do maintain their credibility, even without Bill.

  5. According to Contact Music, they are ditching their plans to record a new album? Bummer!!!

    • There weren’t any formal plans to make one. Just ozzy’s talk during a few press releases. Black Sabbath never announced anything.

    • Chad hallman says

Tom, i read an interview with tony sayin, he wants to do an album, but it’s the tour that he cannot deal with like he used to. And he said it wad geezer that didn’t want to do another album.

  6. Looks like I’m going to get to see them in Feb in Hamilton and again in late August in Toronto!
Also going to see Glenn Hughes in Buffalo in March and Maiden in TO in April.

It’s going to be an AMAZING YEAR!

  7. Wow the prices for tix are astronomical! But I’m still going!

    • Yeah tix are expensive. Seems like brokers buy all the tix and then resell them for a lot more. But what can you do. You shell out the bucks and hope for the best. I’ll sell a kidney to go to this last Sabbath show!

      • Black Sabbath are appearing very near me twice next year, not going to be able to make either of the shows because of what you mentioned, the ticket prices. Wow. These ticket prices are ‘of the times’ and that is unfortunate, but ticket prices have been rocketing upward since 1991. Horrible year for touring bands, low attendance and canceled gigs/tours/portions of tours. Had my tickets for the Sisters Of Mercy but the tour was canceled. I wouldn’t be able to make any of the upcoming Rainbow shows either. I’m just hoping The Cure doesn’t price me out of a ticket next June!!

        • Turns out The Cure aren’t pricing me out of a ticket, they’re just not playing anywhere near Seattle! Fuckers. Seems like the Black Sabbath dates have been pretty much settled, should get the final dates soon??

  8. Hey folks, go see Sabbath, get off the the couch! :)

  9. mark findlay says

With regards to bill wards involvement in this final tour I personally think it
would be proper if he played on paranoid at the last gig of the tour which i
would hope would be in birmingham as that would be the only way to bring this amazing story to an end good luck on the tour and I hope to see you again in Glasgow love and peace

    • Maybe we can get Rob Halford and Vinny Appice to do the last gig in Birmingham, then bring out Ozzy and Bill for the last four songs?

  10. Daniel Limney says

Got decent freaking seats for the Jan. 25th Minneapolis show which I could almost walk to! I’m hoping that the Chicago show three days prior has some tickets still available since it’s such a short flight. For Black Sabbath’s last tour an hour on a jet place is nothing!

    • John (Zonzo ) Zahn says

      CU there!

Six of us got VIP for Minne! Road trip from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada…mid winter tour!

This will be my forth concert (BS w/Pantera / Ozzy / H&H) @ the Target Center!

Also, four Ozzfests (Somerset & Alpine Valley, WI), 1 Ozzy w/ Rhodes (Duluth), 1 Ozzy w/Lee (Charlavoix, MI), Mob Rules (Sudbury, ON), Cross Purpose (St. Paul), 13 x2 (Detroit and Toronto)

      My 14th concert…The End! Maybe…

      2016 tour will also include:
David Gilmore (Toronto) & Northern Invasion (Somerset)

  11. Got my ticket for the Boston date. Just finished listening to Bill Ward’s podcast with Eddie Trunk. Doesn’t sound like they will be able to patch things up anytime soon.

  12. Got me Tix through the presale. Going to see Black Sabbath September 9, 2016 in Albuquerque.
Saw them the first time in Albuquerque almost 40years ago to the day.
Tix were expensive but worth it. Got some pretty good seats too!
Sure wish Bill Ward would participate, but you take what you can get.

  13. Jeff Downing says

I’m glad there is some very visible promotion behind it. But for the life of me I don’t understand why everything has to be marketed with big dumb labels – Sabbath is above the heavy metal tag, and that is about as bland and cliche an ad as I can imagine. Why not just show Black Sabbath being Black Sabbath?

  14. Chad Hallman says

Due to overwhelming demand by the true, dedicated fans that supported THE ORIGINAL BLACK SABBATH, we should get this FINAL TOUR with , MR. BILL WARD !! Ozzy, Tony, Bill, Geezer started it all in the beginning and the original 4 should be the ones to end it !!!

    • No matter what I say about Bill, he really ought to be there for some or most of this, especially the final homecoming shows. Nothing’s been announced, but you see what they’re doing with the schedule. If they’d scheduled the final B’ham shows, the demand would have…uh…demanded that they do more dates AFTER what were supposed to be the final shows, which makes them the NOT final dates. All the demand they are willing to handle has to be met and when the dust settles and they can pinpoint some dates, THAT’s when you’re going to get your final hometown dates. Don’t worry and don’t complain. Bill, however, is being outrageously unreasonable so…the sooner you forget the idea of him being there the less it will bother you.

      • Still cracks me up, Bill’s ludicrous demands that Ozzy recite this litany of apologies in order for Bill to consider (CONSIDER) re-joining the venture. Does Ozzy have to appear to mean what he’s saying? If not, maybe something can be worked out. With Bill knowing Ozzy for 45+ years…seriously, what kind of response did Bill expect? I’m cynical enough to think that maybe Bill made his conditions so impossible that he knew Ozzy would never be willing to meet them, thereby garnering a massive amount of sympathy for himself…except from those who can see through the smokescreen. I’m reminded of the old song ‘Don’t Believe A Word’. All the best to the band on the upcoming tour.

  15. Coming to Austin and Houston, Texas ?

  16. Hopefully they take mr.lieblings pentagram on their opening band 2 best bands in the world! And 2 best new heavy albums 13 and curious volume

    • Amen, henri!! Just saw Pentagram for the first time in Chicago in early October and they were fantastic. Agreed…Curious Volume is fantastic.

  17. Would like to see them but am not traveling to another state. Especially with ticket prices the way they are.

  18. So, Ozzy tells the Australian press that a new Sabbath album would take 3-4 years to make and people aren’t really interested in new music from Black Sabbath. I say: Ozzy, come on, man. We all know that’s just a bullsh!t excuse for giving up on making the next Sabbath album. It’s very clear to us all that the last one has been selling in massive quantities, and there would very obviously be similarly huge interest in another one. The last album took one year, off and on, to make. If the band does not want to make another one, millions of us would be disappointed but we would have to accept it. But please, please, PLEASE don’t patronize us with the ridiculous excuse that it takes 3-4 years and that “people aren’t really interested”.

    • I agree with you Marcus. There are many who are interested, everyone that bought ’13’ for a start. Tony gave an explanation that I can buy very easily. He said that the previous album performed beyond what they had hoped and there’s never a guarantee that the next album would top it. They’d rather go out riding the success of ’13’ rather than the uncertainty of doing another album. We’d all love to hear more but in reality the band are the ones who are going to have to live with their decisions and right now going out with a truly great album seems like the right decision.

      • I’d hate for any new album to perform poorly and have the guys go out on a note of regret. They most certainly do not deserve that.

  19. What about a Dallas Texas date. Just waiting on that. Hate to have to fly to Detroit, but will do it.

  20. Saw them in Tacoma, and am wondering if the cancelled Vancouver show has been rescheduled yet?

  21. I like reading through an article that can make people think.
Also, thank you for allowing me to comment!
