FAN SUBMITTED TOUR REVIEWS & REMARKS

From: Gordon Lang

Joe,

Here is a concert review from the Dehumanizer tour in 1992 in Scotland.

Venue: 3000 Capacity Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre

Supported by: 2 Die 4

Band Personnel: Ronnie James Dio
Vinnie Appice
Tony Iommi
Geezer Butler

2 Die 4

I thought at the time 2 Die 4 would be one for the future. They seemed very confident with some fine tunes like No Bars at the Zoo and Walk Right Now but were later regarded as mediocre by the British Music Press. They delivered well and seemed totally unfazed by supporting the mighty Sabbath.

Black Sabbath

As the house lights went down in the half filled Playhouse Theatre there was still an electric atmosphere, a question whether Sabbath would still be great. Is this reincarnation of the "Classic Mob Rules" lineup going to work.

As they opened with Mob Rules the riffing of Tony, The Bass of Geezer and the pounding of the drums from Vinnie were brilliant, the acoustics in the Theatre were amazing but I don't know if it was an off night or whether the lack of audience affected him but Ronnie Dio's heart never really looked into it.

Older material like Mob Rules, Children of the Sea and Heaven & Hell were amazing alongside new standards like I, Time Machine and Master of Insanity. Unfortunately Ronnie killed old faves like War Pigs and Black Sabbath but this was truly a memorable gig.

I am glad I got to see this lineup and it was only my 2nd gig, my first being Ozzy at the same Theatre a few months early on the No More Tears tour so I was fairly lucky.

A 7 out of 10 for this gig would suffice.
