Still recovering from Ozzfest yesterday......Oh my neck!

I didn't take notes, but, according to my blurry memory, the playlist
went like this:

War Pigs
N.I.B. w/Bassically solo
Fairies Wear Boots
After Forever
Sweetleaf
Electric Funeral
Into the Void
Snowblind
Children of the Grave w/Embryo solo
Black Sabbath
Iron Man
encore:
Paranoid w/Supernaut tease

My order may be defective, but I'm sure that I haven't missed any.
Noticeably absent was "Dirty Women", which I've always been fond of. A very
satisfying set anyway.

Ozzy's voice was holding up allright until "Sweetleaf" during which it all
but disappeared. Maybe if he didn't scream at the crowd so much between
songs it would hold up longer! Fortunately, the audience was able to fill
in for Ozzy.

Ozzy introduced Terry first, then Bill about ten times, then Tony which of
course brought the biggest roar/scream from the crowd. Ozzy kowtowed to
Tony while the crowd cheered. A kickass gesture I thought!

I'm not trying to piss anybody off, but most of the Ozzfest line-up was
lame. I wish Drain STH had started later so that I wouldn't have come so
early. Drain and Slayer were cool, but the rest were pretty boring. I
missed Primus to see Slipknot, oops! I'm not a Primus fan, but I'm
definitely not a Slipknot fan! I'll have to admit that they tried harder
than anybody else. It was 85 degrees in the shade and these guys are
wearing heavy coveralls and rubber masks! I expected to see some tit at the
Fear Factory show, but that part of the act was dropped. (like "Dirty
Women" from the Sab set. I smell a conspiracy!)

There was a lot of shit flying around at the main stage. Mostly plastic
water bottles, but I had the honor of taking it right in the lower back
from a glass beer bottle during the Godsmack set! Some FAGGOT up in the
lawn seats hurled it down into the reserved seating area where I was
standing. If I had been sitting in my seat I would have taken it in the
head! As it was, it exploded and a friend standing next to me got his leg
cut by one of the flying shards. Amazingly, I didn't even get a bruise!

The parking lot was fun afterwards: lots of fireworks. Of course, since
fireworks are illegal and I've already been ticketed for same, I just
watched. (HA!)

My life is complete, I've seen what I thought I'd never see, the original
BLACK SABBATH!!

ok ya'll. i was at ozzfest at alpine valley on 7-3-99, and sabbath rocked.
now mind ya, i didn't show up 'till 8:00. obvious reasons. i'm an old
foggie, and the thrash seen is not my bag. ozzy sang, toni jammed, geezer
was thumpin' and bill was bangin'. all we're tight and right there with
each other. very impressive! also, my first sabbath show. sin after sin,
huh!! but as i said, they we're what sabbath is supposed to be. no
arguements, no misses, just pure black magic!!!!

igor said that
