Just noticed in a Sabbath sheet music book that covers the first 4 albums from the mid 70's that all the other titles from the first pressing of MOR were not mentioned, except for "The Elegy", which proves your point. All the other titles from the other 3 of the first 4 albums such as Wasp, A Bit of Finger, The Straightener etc are present.

                        • OK, I'm sure this has been asked or talked about a million times, but do we know who that is on the Paranoid album cover?

It's the War Pig. Not known who actually played the War Pig for the photo.

Knew it was a "War Pig", was curious about his identity. Thanks NID.

That's a hard one brother , maybe Roller has that answer .... Photography and album design for Paranoid is by Marcus Keef , he also did Sabbath’s first album (but not the actual picture taken of the lady) and Master of Reality.

Joe's thoughts on both debut and paranoid ...

                                "Black Sabbath,
It's an unknown woman. It is not Ozzy, and there's no evidence that it's Bill Ward's first wife in front of their cottage as some have also claimed. According to Pete Sarfas, she was an actor who was hired for the photos. After the album had been released she met the band. There was supposedly an interesting story about her, but the Black Sabbath Appreciation Society folded before that story made it to print.

                                Paranoid,
At this time, there's no information who that is."

Sabbath album covers , whether it be the Debut , Paranoid , Vol 4 , SBS , Sabotage , HnH , Mob Rules , Born Again , Eternal Idol , Forbidden front and BACK , TDYK .... all 27 of them practically , TE , NSD , even Live Evil ... Sabbath album covers are iconic and filled with so much history ,, more so than any other artist.

Take Mob Rules for instance , easily one of Sabbath’s all time best Album Covers , did they tweak the original , "The cover painting is by fantasy/science fiction artist Greg Hildebrandt. It’s essentially a recreation of his 1971 work , Dream 1: Crucifiers." So it says "Kill Ozzy" under the feet , if you look at the hook in the original they change it to a Cross for the Sabbath release .... and the blood stain on the original becomes a "Devil Head" blood stain for the Sab's .... very awesome are the Sabbath Album covers.

                                God bless

EDIT , the Debut , two other points .... both the actual photographer (unless someone can prove otherwise) and lady (no one is finding her) have vanished since it's release ;;;; and Paranoid was originally going to be called "Walpurgis" before it got changed to "War Pigs" and then later "Paranoid"

                                EDIT PART 2 ,, https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!...th/dI1mv05w_uo

                                EDIT PART 3 ,, http://www.grayflannelsuit.net/blog/...week-mob-rules

EDIT PART 4 ,, http://loudwire.com/cover-stories-bl...-titled-debut/ ,,,, great read , but still going with my source , that tho "Keef" designed the cover and photography for the "Debut" , he did not take the original pic of our "famous" Lady .... this is a case where I want to be proven wrong.
