  • Keith Stuart MacMillan aka "Marcus Keef"

Black Sabbath (1970) - cover photo / jacket design (credited as Keef)
Paranoid (1970) - cover photo / gatefold photo / jacket design (credited as Keef)
Master of Reality (1971) - poster photography (credited as Keef)
Vol 4 (1972) - gatefold booklet photography (credited as Keith McMillan)
Paranoid / Iron Man picture disc (1982) - photography (no credit)

Some outtakes from the Vol 4 shoot also ended up in magazines and books.
The shot on the Paranoid picture disc is an outtake from the MOR poster photoshoot.

No idea who the model for the Paranoid cover is.

    Edit:

here is a bit from an interview with Olav Wyper:

“As with the earlier Keef designs, Sabbath had no input into the sleeve design. The bands would usually be shown the artwork before it went out, just as a courtesy, but very rarely did any of them have any say into the cover artwork. Nobody ever objected to any artwork, that I can remember.

The Sabbath brief to Keef was pretty open. Because I knew what he did, he would be given the music, and he'd come back with his own ideas and interpretations and there were very few times that we ever said, "No... don't think that really works." Virtually everything he did was stunningly brilliant, and he liked the music too.

The whole design was Keef, including the inverted cross and poem on the inside.”

    • If anybody is interested, the original 30" x 30" commissioned drawing for the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath cover, front and back, are for sale.

I looked into it several years ago, but Ernie wanted more $ than I was willing to cough up. Not sure what he would want for it now.

I think that has a lot to do with the modern sound production values of The Devil You Know.

I agree. That's what makes it such a sludgy turd, Ronnie my boy.
