  • Best Dio era album?

I was curious on what album is considered to be the best in the dio era?
    The albums:
    Heaven and Hell
    Mob rules
    Dehumanizer
The Devil You a Know(I'm going to call this a Black Sabbath album, it is just under a different name.)

I know this has been asked before, but I haven't heard anything on
Dehumanizer and The Devil You Know.

    Heaven And Hell

though my favorite Dio/Sabbath song is off Mob Rules
"Without Black Sabbath there never would have been an Ozzy, and without Ozzy there never would have been a Black Sabbath"
"If there ever was a band whose voice is so significant and distinct, that band is Black Sabbath and the voice is Ozzy Osbourne"

I prefer Mob Rules to Heaven and Hell, but I haven't heard all of Dehumanizer or The Devil You Know, but I'm assuming that they are good. The reason I like Mob Rules better is that it has The Sign of the Southern Cross and Over and Over. Heaven and Hell is great too, it is is almost as good as Mob Rules. It is more consistent, though.

The general consensus is that Heaven and Hell is the best. For me personally, each of the first three have all spent time as my favorite (never been fond of The Devil You Know). I think Mob Rules has won out as my personal favorite though.

Yes, all of the songs on Heaven and Hell are great.
Mob Rules has more filler, but The Sign of the Southern Cross and Over and Over compensate for the filler.
I have half of Dehumanizer on itunes, and it is great, too, but it isn't as good as Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules.

I'm curious which songs from Dehumanizer you have. IMO, the best are:

            After All (The Dead)
            TV Crimes
            Letters From Earth
            Too Late
            I

All those songs are essential in my opinion. A lot of people would argue Computer God is essential too. I like it, but it's not one of my favorites from the album. Definitely worth hearing though.

I have Computer God, After All(The Dead), Master of Insanity , I, and Buried Alive.
They all are great songs. I'm going to get the whole album eventually.

                I wholly recommend it.

The "best" is most definitely Heaven and Hell - impeccable the whole way through. On the other hand my personal favorite is Mob Rules.

                        Dehumanizer is brilliant, too.
I'm still with Mob Rules though.

Heaven and Hell has a more Rainbow sound to it, Mob Rule is more Sabbath.
Dehumanizer and The Devil You Know are heavier.

Close call for me between MR and H&H, but I give the edge to Heaven & Hell.
Both of these contain some tunes which I consider to be in the class of Ozzy
                          era quality.
The other two (TDYK, Deh) I find good but not great.
Nobody I know is gonna take my rock & roll away from me.

Here are the best( in my opinion) songs from the Dio era albums:
                            Lady Evil
                            Die Young
                            Turn up a the Night
The Sign of the Southern Cross
                            Over and Over
                            Computer God
                            Master of Insanity

Country Girl is probably my absolute favourite song they did together.
