  • The Best Black Sabbath Lyrics-Line?

What lyric-line do you think is the best in Ozzy era?

I have many, but i think one of their best is from "Wicked World"

They can put a man on the moon quite easy
While people here on earth are dying of old diseases
You work your life away and what do they give?
You're only killing yourself to live?

    One of my faves:

"If my song becomes my freedom
and my freedom turns to gold
then I'll ask the final question
if the answer could be sold"

A Hard Road was perhaps my favorite song off of Never Say Die! - it was amazing lyrically and musically. This is my all-time favorite Sabbath lyric:

      "Poets yearning, lovers learning
On this path of life we pass along
      Is it wrong
      Widows weeping, babies sleeping
Life becomes the singer and the song
      Sing along"

in myself and no one else it's true.

Could it be you're afraid of what your friends might say
If they knew you believe in God above?
They should realize before they criticize
that God is the only way to love.

I have been a Black Sabbath fan for a long time, and this is my all time favorite Sabbath Lyrics. When I was challenged back in the day for being a Satanist, because everyone knew how much I was into Sabbath, this is the lyrics I would always bring up. then I would ask if that sounded like the lyrics of a Satanic band?

It was quite comical. Usually this would end any confrontation. I would tell the person to check out the album "Master of Realty" and the track "After Forever." Pretty soon people left me alone and did not know what to think of me....LOL
"I can honestly say itís truly been an honor to play at his side for all these years, his music will live on forever." ~ Tony Iommi (Speaking of Ronnie James Dio)

I'm seeing the stars that disappear in the sun
The shooting's easy if you've got the right gun
And even though I'm sitting waiting for miles I
don't believe there's any future in cars

                'cause it's soooo '70s

Robot minds of robot slaves lead them to atomic rage
plastic flowers, melting sun, fading moon falls upon
dying world of radiation, victims of mad frustration
Burning globe of oxy'n fire, like electric funeral pyre

                'cause it's sooo cool

Anyway, for me it's the entire lyrics where this line's from:

Soon the days were passing into years, happiness just didn't come so easy.

"So believe what I tell you it's the only way your finding me in,
Well just believe in yourself, you know you really shouldn't have to pretend,
Don't let those sensitive people try an interfere with your mind,
Just live your life and leave them all behind..."

                    Under The Sun
"Music is so sacred to me that I canít hear wishy-washy nonsense just played for the sake of selling records."
                    R. Blackmore

Try your hardest you'll still be a loser, and the world will still be turning when you're gone.

                      Bleak stuff, but powerful!

I love this song and lyrics,

                        Yes I know the secret
                        That's within your mind
                        You think all the people
                        Who worship you are blind
                        You're just like Big Brother

                        Giving us your trust
And when you have played enough
                        You'll just cast our souls
                        Into the dust
                        Into the dust

You thought that it would be easy
                        From the very start
                        Now I've found you out
                        I don't think you're so smart
I only have one more question
                        Before my time is through
Please I beg you tell me
                        In the name of hell
                        Who are you?
                        Who are you?

"I have no religion, don't need no friends! I'm all I want and I don't need to pretend!"

Supernaut :p great lyrics in that whole album, with a clear theme (independence).
"I am the crazy man who lives inside your head, but I think I'm breaking through the wall... You are the innocent convicted of the crime, no one was ever there to catch you when you fall" (1992)
-Ronnie James Dio, Rest in Peace

"In the summer days we flew to the sun, on melting wings, but the seasons changed to fast, leave us all behind... Blind..." (1969)
                          - Jon Lord, Rest in Peace

                          My first album!!!:

"Long ago I wandered through my mind
In the land of fairy tales and stories
Lost in happiness I knew no fears
Innocence and love was all I knew
                            It was an illusion"

For me those lines say a lot. Wheels Of Confusion could be the most depressing song in their catalog. I love the song, just depressing. It reminds me of childhood and the Innocence that comes with it. No fears, just happiness and fun.

"Sorcerers of madness".... etc. The entirety of "Spiral Architect" is poetry.
