  • About N.I.B. from live album Reunion

At the end of the track, it sounds like an audience was able to reach the stage, and talked with Ozzy and the rest of the audience. Then he told Sabbath to have a great fun, and left. Ozzy then said, "What the fuck was that?!"

But alas.... I still am unable to understand what that guy was saying.....
Do you hear the thunder raging in the sky?
Premonition of a shattered world thatís gonna die.
In the age of reason, how do we survive?
The protocols of evil ravaging so many lives?

        As I hear it:

Ozzy: "Is this a guard?" (probably wondering, at first glance, whether the guy is supposed to be there)
Man: "I'm gonna get my head kicked in....ozzy fans....he's the fucking best....there's no more.....ozzy and Black Sabbath............is the fucking best!"
Ozzy: "Do you want a job?" (a jab at security, probably, and with good reason)
Man: "I'm a great fan!" (presumably he is led away at this point)

Pretty obviously a set-up, as Ozzy has just introduced the rest of the band and lo and behold, here comes a random guy running up on stage to say "Ozzy's the best". Even when this first came out I shouted "Set-up". A corny, cheesy, good old fashioned set-up.

Ozzy is the best and so is Black Sabbath.
"Without Black Sabbath there never would have been an Ozzy, and without Ozzy there never would have been a Black Sabbath"
"If there ever was a band whose voice is so significant and distinct, that band is Black Sabbath and the voice is Ozzy Osbourne"

I was at this show in Brum and some guy jumped on stage and ran over to Ozzy and just shouted into the mic. Oz let him speak and then he was escorted from the stage.

You would think the guy would've been instantly escorted by security, what if he was carrying a knife or something?

Security at concerts in 1997 was likely good, but it was also not what it is now.

Yeah, the guy could've done some serious damage.

I use to sneak things all the time in the nineties in my pants, They never did a good job where I was at, but now due to all the shootings and all they probably are better, unfortunately a sign of the times.

I was on the floor/in the pit at an Ozzy gig in 98 and saw a lighter travelling at high velocity just miss his head.

I remember being glad he didn't pull an Axl Rose and storm off stage...he probably didn't even know.

It would have hurt if it hit.

I wasn't of concert-going age in the 1990s, but I'm very glad things have changed for the better. For every audience member like you OID, who did the right thing, there need have been only one bad apple to spoil it for everyone. It's a shame it took what it did to get to the point that it has.

Very much agreed Sweet, just look at the Los Vegas shooting, who in this case the guy started shooting people from his hotel room and the Ariana Grande concert in England, very scary things to think about.
