It's also possibly the only cover of a Martin era song I honestly don't recall ever hearing a cover from the Martin era at all. The band does a good job with it though.

I enjoyed both versions. The one from Bulgaria was superior obviously but the one from the Japanese folks was a good effort. At least they tried.

The Bulgarian band is really great. The singer has a great voice and what I liked is that the musicians didn't exactly stick to the original but gave their own take of it, especially the guitarist and the keyboard player. It'd be great if more bands covered this era of Sabbath.

The Japanese band isn't bad either, but their singer should really think hard before quitting his day job...

I would happily take over as front man for that Japanese group.

The Bulgarian band have a much better vocalist, but I prefer "When Death Calls" done with the correct bass intro - for obvious reasons! It's pretty hard though, but I had the honour of talking to Neil Murray - discussing the correct way to do it and how to set the effects. For me, it involves retuning a string though - because Neil's hands are at least double the size of my "little girl" hands.
