When I listen to the Tony Martin era, it has a relaxing almost calming feeling, except for Forbidden which is a rocking album.

Does anyone else get this feeling? It's a soothing good feeling.

I find that all the TM albums have a positive overall vibe to them. They are pretty special in their own right. Isn't it nice to have an alternative to turn to when you need a change of Sabbath pace? I love the fact that I can listen according to my mood.

You know NID, I feel like I have all this new Sabbath to explore and get into, now that I have the Martin era CD's, that is all I listen to nowadays, Sabbath in all it's eras.

It's hard to explain but the Tony Martin era does have a different feel and vibe to it, I mean I've had all his material all these years and never got into it, in a weird way I have the Ozzy era and 13 to thank for that, because of that, it's what got me on this forum and I got to meet Doctor John who inspired me to give the Hughes and Martin material a try, which in turn I got to discover the Ray Gillen sessions, who's voice I fell in love with when I heard him for the first time., what passion he had.

I would like to meet Tony Martin one day and express my thanks and gratitude for keeping the Sabbath name going all those years that he did.

Good for you OID. Broadening one's spectrum can only result in a bigger and better experience, if you like the music that is. For me, the fatal flaw is comparing eras. If you just listen and don't compare, then it is much easier to accept the other eras. Yes, it would be great to share some thoughts with Mr Martin. I hope to see the Martin discussion page get more traffic in the future, and I will certainly add my .02 to accomplish that goal. I am always buying new bits and pieces of Sabbath stuff, but I am going to try and fill some holes in my Martin collection as well. From a purely collecting perspective, this era is in some ways the holy grail, and the best investment, as print runs were very limited and restricted to certain countries. This is the stuff you really want to keep mint, as we saw with the Forbidden LP auction. Some of the most collectible music comes from big name bands whose albums ended up in the blow-out bins, and was not printed again. The Martin era is an excellent example of this. Values of original pressings should continue to rise in future; re-issues, not so much.

I like the 3 Sabbath eras, but I am not at the point where I can enjoy the one off guys. That will take time.

A thought hits me. Dio didn't join Sabbath. Ian didn't join Sabbath. Ozzy didn't join Sabbath. Glenn didn't join Sabbath. Of all the singers on record only Tony Martin really joined Black Sabbath.

Awesome man! Yeah I'd hate to get that one, but eh, it's the same music at least.

I was told by a dubious source that the Classic Rock Version is remastered and sounds better than the original pressing. That's the version I have as well.. I never have any complaints about the sound but I hear people say all the time Headless Cross sounds like shit.
